Can't complain about a backdrop like that!

Last week, we were working with Hitherto Construction, installing a frameless glass balustrade to the timber deck using 13.52 Sentry Glass. The system removes the need for a top rail, keeping the view open and uninterrupted.

The glass is installed into Opus Hardware mini posts, which also allowed us to match the existing hardware.

Meet Nate, the newest member to the 360 team and our latest Employee of the Month!

Nate started as an Estimator with us at the start of the year with no knowledge of the glass industry and impressed us with how quickly he gained a wealth of understanding of the wide range of hardware systems and glass types, not to mention fitting in with the team so well.

During a site measure, we check the substrates and wall linings for plumb and level, and make sure the corners are square. That's what tells us how to install it and whether the glass will fit the way it should.

We also scope the practical side. How's the access? Does it take three or four guys to carry the glass up the stairs? If it's a mirror or splashback, can we get it around whatever's in the way?

Getting a glass install right starts with good coordination early, so everything’s ready when it’s our turn to come in.

Once a site’s ready, the builder gets in touch with Stu or the office team and we book in a site visit to measure up, talk through the install and work out how it ties in with the other trades on site.

From there, most of the coordination runs through the site foreman. We’ll talk things through face-to-face before the install so everyone understands what’s required, because getting those details sorted early is what helps the job run the way it should.
