๐ Missed your 2026 intake? Hereโs what to do next.
What ifโฆ your study plans didn't go quite as expected this year?
We know itโs frustrating when youโre ready to start your journey, but your visa decision hasn't arrived in time. Whether your application was submitted late or simply required a more complex assessment, you still have options to get back on track! โ๏ธ๐
Here is your quick guide on how to handle your next steps based on your situation:
๐ Option 1: You can start later in 2026
If your course has a later intake this year, there is good news!
What happens: Immigration New Zealand can "approve your application in principle" (AIP) provided you meet the requirements.
What you need to do: Keep an eye on your due dates and provide any outstanding information requested. Once met, your visa can be granted for the later start date.
๐๏ธ Option 2: You have to wait until 2027
If you canโt start until next year, the best path forward is a fresh start.
Our recommendation: Withdraw your current application and request a fee refund.
Why? Documents and personal circumstances (like health or finances) can change over time, making old applications outdated.
When to reapply: We suggest submitting a new application around September 2026 to prepare for the 2027 academic year.
