ECG Strengthening Connections Across Communities

Elika Consulting Group (ECG) was pleased to join a special lunch hosted by the Consul General of India in Auckland, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi, as part of the celebrations marking India’s 80th Independence Day.

The occasion provided a valuable opportunity to connect with the Consul General and strengthen relationships between the Indian, Pacific and wider New Zealand communities.

For ECG, these connections are an important part of our work — bringing people, communities and organisations together and creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration across cultures and sectors.

We warmly congratulate the Consul General and the Indian community in Aotearoa New Zealand on this significant celebration and look forward to continuing to strengthen our connections.

🌺 Strengthening Pacific Governance Connections in Samoa

ECG had the privilege of meeting with Funemalafai Onosefulu Fuata’i, Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Institute of Directors-SIoD while recently providing governance training in Samoa.

Established in 2005, the Samoa Institute of Directors plays an important role in strengthening governance capability across Samoa. Through professional development and director training, the Institute equips current and aspiring board members with practical knowledge in areas such as directors’ responsibilities, strategic planning, financial oversight, compliance, accountability and effective board leadership.

This valuable meeting created an opportunity to exchange insights and explore future collaboration in governance development, leadership training and organisational capability across Samoa and the wider Pacific.

Fa’afetai tele lava to Funemalafai and the Samoa Institute of Directors for the warm welcome and meaningful talanoa.

Pacific-led. Culturally grounded. Globally connected. 🌏

🎶 Celebrating Pacific excellence at the 2026 Pacific Music Awards! 🌺

Last night, the Pacific Music Awards brought our communities together in Manukau to recognise and celebrate the incredible artists, songwriters, producers and creatives shaping Pacific music across Aotearoa and beyond.

ECG’s Executive Director Sara-Jane Elika who was the inaugural Winner of the Best Pacific Female Artist, was invited to attend celebrating the talent, culture and music excellence.

For more than two decades, the Pacific Music Awards have provided an important platform for Pacific talent, culture, language and storytelling recognising those creating impact today while honouring the legacy that has paved the way for future generations. 💙

At Elika Consulting Group (ECG), we remain committed to supporting strong arts communities through the connection of music.

Congratulations to all the 2026 Pacific Music Awards finalists, recipients, organisers and the wider village behind the music. Your creativity and achievements continue to inspire us all. 👏🏽🌊

Talofa lava from Samoa!

ECG was proud to continue its governance training journey in Samoa, under the Partnerships for Aviation (P4A) Governance Programme, in partnership with Mayfield Group and supported by the Australian Government through DFAT. ✈️

The workshop brought together aviation and tourism leaders, directors, and management professionals committed to strengthening governance practices and organisational leadership across the Pacific.

It was inspiring to see participants openly share their experiences, learn from one another, and contribute to the growing network of Pacific leaders working collectively to strengthen the region’s aviation sector.

At ECG, we believe strong governance and capable leadership are essential to building resilient organisations and creating sustainable outcomes for future generations.

Fa’afetai tele lava to our partners, participants, and hosts in Samoa for your warm hospitality, meaningful contributions, and dedication to strengthening governance and leadership across the Pacific.

🌺 Globally connected. Future-focused. Pacific-led.

Unlocking Philanthropy in the Pacific

Recently, ECG explored a critical question through a three-part blog series: Why does the Pacific receive so little international philanthropic support* despite its global importance to climate resilience, ocean protection, biodiversity and food security.

To summarise, the first part looks at moving away from traditional aid models to create fresh opportunities that bridge the funding gap and elevate local impact. The second part highlights the structural and infrastructure barriers limiting investment on the ground and finally with the third part, ECG outlines a Pacific-led roadmap moving forward.

Built on local leadership, trust, and genuine partnerships, ECG’s 1 pager presents how funders and organizations can support and minimise the divide that turns donor interest into sustainable, long-term impact.

Elika Consulting Group (ECG) is proud to be supporting the Pacific Community (SPC) on the design and implementation of its refreshed Employee Induction, Mandatory Training and Onboarding Programme.

Last week, our CEO and Executive Director, were in Nouméa, New Caledonia, attending the delivery of SPC’s Orientation Day on Tuesday, 28 July. The event connected over 60 participants across Nouméa, Fiji and the wider Pacific with a hybrid blended delivery.

ECG has worked closely with SPC to co-design an engaging and culturally grounded orientation experience, covering ONE SPC values, service to the Blue Pacific, cultural capability, talanoa and connection across the organisation.

This project reflects what ECG does best: combining strategic thinking, authentic Pacific engagement and practical programme design to create solutions that work for people.

We thank SPC for their trust and partnership and are proud to support a stronger, more connected workforce across the Pacific.

🌟 ECG TAKES THE STAGE AT THE 2026 NZSBA CONFERENCE 🌟

What an incredible few days at the 36th NZSBA Annual Members Conference in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

ECG were proud to present across two conference sessions focused on leadership, cultural intelligence and inspired governance.

On Saturday the masterclass:
"Governing in a Changing Aotearoa – Elevating Cultural Intelligence and Pacific Connection"

The session was packed, with approximately 80 people in attendance, and was very well received. It was encouraging to see school board members, principals and governance leaders actively engaging in conversations about culturally responsive decision-making, authentic Pacific engagement and building stronger relationships with diverse school communities.

On Sunday, the Fono:
"Charting by the Stars – Pacific Insights for Inspired Governance"

Drawing on Pacific wayfinding traditions, the session explored how collective wisdom, trust, cultural identity and visionary leadership can help school boards confidently navigate change and strengthen outcomes for ākonga, whānau and communities.

A special thank you to the NZSBA team, fellow presenters, conference organisers and everyone who joined our sessions and shared in the kōrero.

ECG is proud to contribute to conversations that strengthen governance and help organisations create more inclusive, connected and future-focused communities.

Grow. Connect. Thrive.
