Let's talk TVs. They're one of the hardest things to recycle, packed with hazardous materials like lead and mercury.

Here's what we do:

We love getting to meet the people who make our Westfield e-days possible!

Last week we hosted teams from all four Auckland Westfield centres for a behind-the-scenes tour at Echo. It was so great to put faces to names and get them up close with how we process your old electronics.

Since the start of the year we've diverted 46,872kg of e-waste from landfill, collected from 1,820 cars across 5 events. That's an incredible effort from our communities! ♻️

We've got more events coming in September across all four Auckland locations, keep your eyes out and get ready to clear out those old TVs, phones, and laptops.

♻️ Come along this Saturday, Rangeview community!

The Year 7 & 8 students have spent the week learning about e-waste, and now they need your help to make a real impact.

Bring your old electronics (phones, chargers, laptops, cables - anything!) and drop them off at our Drive-Thru event. The Echo e-days team will unload it all for you, quick and easy.

🗓 Saturday 23rd May | 10am – 2pm

Every item dropped off is one less in landfill. Let's do this together! 💚

We hit a milestone in May that we're incredibly proud of 🙌

For the first time ever, we hosted three e-day events on the same day, across two cities, with three amazing partners, reaching three very different communities.

📍 Westfield St Lukes, Auckland - thanks to Westfield's sponsorship, we were able to bring accessible e-waste recycling directly to everyday shoppers.

📍 Glen Eden Intermediate, Auckland - our E-week education programme is helping school whānau understand the impact of e-waste and what they can do about it.

📍 Hnry Stadium, Wellington - a huge thanks to 2degrees for bringing an e-day to their network in the capital.

Across all three events, we diverted nearly 32,000kg of e-waste from landfills across the North Island. That's 32,000kg of materials that will stay in circulation, not sent to landfill.

E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. Events like these show what's possible when communities, businesses, and schools come together.

We set a goal, and you helped us smash it.

Through our FY26 E-Days fundraising, we set out to raise $20,000 for Variety New Zealand — The Children's Charity. You helped us blow that out of the water.

✨ $31,090 donated
🌱 643 lives positively impacted
💻 53 Kiwi kids received digital devices

Our donations support Variety's Individual Grants - bridging the digital divide by putting devices into the hands of Kiwi kids who need them most, so no child is left behind in an increasingly connected world.

This is what community looks like. Thank you to everyone who visited our e-days and contributed towards a greener, more connected future for kiwi kids.

🌿 Happy Earth Day, from the team at Echo.

Kiwis produce around 20kg of e-waste per person, per year, and less than 2% is properly recycled. When electronics end up in landfill, toxic substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium leach into our soil and waterways, and the precious materials inside, gold, copper, lithium, are lost forever.

Recycling your old tech means less mining, less damage, and resources kept in circulation.
