Tī Kōuka.

The mighty "cabbage tree". There's no mistaking its tall, palm-like stature and sword-shaped leaves.

In Māori culture, the Cordyline australis is the transformed form of Tāne Mahuta, the god of forests and birds.

These trees are a gift from Tāne Mahuta, and their leaves have been used for thatching and shelter for centuries.
