On Behalf of the NewZeal party we are saddened by the news of the passing of the Maori King, Kīngi Tūheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero VII.

We extend our heartfelt condolences and our thoughts and prayers are with the Kingitanga family, the Iwi, and the entire Tainui community during this time of mourning.

The Koroneihana last week acknowledged and honoured Kingi Tuheitia 18 years service of leadership to the people.

My older brother Danny passed away today 3 years ago and I miss him dearly. I said that he was a hero for me and all heroes have superpowers. Danny had three; 1. His cheekiness, 2. His strong determined will 3. His laughter.
We grew up initially in Ponsonby and part of that pacific migration story of our parents and then out to west Auckland, home of the pioneers. Gone from our homes but forever in our hearts. Love you my big brother

I strongly condemn today's deadly rocket attacks on, and terrorist infiltration into, Israel from Gaza.

As the leader of the NewZeal party I request that the NZ Govt Min. Mahuta and Prime Minister Hipkins condemn Hamas for these terrorist attacks.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and with everyone affected. Israel has the right to defend itself against such aggression.
