After seeing Bob from Coffs Harbours post about his old tee, Simon also shared this with us -

‘’I spotted the recent FB post about Bob from Coffs Harbour and his 30-year old T-shirt. Likewise this was our sons favourite and we can't throw it out despite him moving out of home 10+ years ago. Always hoping for a re-print to give to his kids.’’

There have been some great prints over the years from the team of artists that have worked here. We will rethink what we can drag out of the archives but we love seeing your favourites!

The Kiwi Mantra is ‘’Global Culture to a T‘’.

I read some time ago the view that what was cool pre-COVID is not cool post-COVID.

The article went on to say that big loud V12 cars, flashy clothes and in your face luxury is over. People had moved on to looking for more meaningful experiences, authentic lifestyles and the great outdoors.

We are seeing that with visitors coming to New Zealand. It is more about quality and the experience.

Global Culture has tried to maintain our brand as a reflection of New Zealand and ‘’The way we live”.

We believe life’s real luxuries come from:

The way we live our life

Relaxing and enjoying friends where we live

Taking care of others, nature, and our environment

It is the Kiwi mantra.

Live, relax, care.

It is the Global Culture way.

It is Global Culture to a T.

Definitions of 'to a T'

to a T or to a tee means perfectly or exactly right. you have succeeded in doing it exactly right.

Bob from Coffs Harbour visited our Queen St, Auckland store this week. He was looking for his favourite t-shirt, which he bought from Global Culture 30 years ago. He's still wearing it (with many holes in it) and doesn't want to let it go. He purchased three kids' t-shirts for his grandkids, as he wanted to introduce Global Culture into their lives, just like himself. He's coming to ChCh, so we'll try and get him a replacement. Well done, Bob. That certainly isn't throwaway fashion.

The worlds fastest Indian.

Burt Munro made the Indian motorcycle a crowd favourite in New Zealand. In 2016 we printed a t-shirt for a Motorcycle rally for Indian bikes in Canterbury. Over the weekend a rally for Indian bikes was based in Akaroa with trips around Banks Peninsula. We were proud to see the t-shirt printed 10 years ago being worn and in great condition.

There were some great bikes on show in a fantastic setting at Akaroa.

Ōkārito lagoon -

The tiny South Westland settlement of Ōkārito sits on a lagoon which is one of New Zealand's most significant ecological treasures. The remote community of Ōkārito on the South Island's West Coast, 30km north of Franz Josef, is home to just 30 people.

But this beautiful settlement situated in one of New Zealand's most significant ecosystems has a thriving campground, a restored community centre and attracts visitors from around the world.

For many years, it was also home to Booker Prize-winning author Keri Hulme.

It’s unspoilt and a "wonderful place to live," says Barry Hughes owner of Ōkārito Kayaks.

"People live here by choice and the visitors who come here will often comment on the simplicity and the quintessentially Kiwi feel to the place."

He's the third local to own the business that was established 35 years ago.

"It's a very, very simple place, Ōkārito. The kayaking business, there's a boat tour business here, there's a Kiwi tour business.

"All of them are really simple, small businesses that are focused on nature in what's essentially a very simple town that hasn't changed much over generations.

The restored Donovan's Store hosts town meetings, music in the summer and is also HQ for the settlement's annual gorse busting events.

"There's a few more houses here, but there's still no shop and no restaurant."

Ōkārito lagoon is New Zealand's largest, unmodified coastal wetland.

Annual gorse busting events where volunteers come from all over the country to help eradicate the shrub has seen the environment further flourish, Hughes says.

"It’s effectively predator-free, the bird life here has always been outstanding, but in recent years, with the huge conservation work that's been done, it's become, I'd suggest, one of the most significant sites in the world for biodiversity."
