2025 Syzygy Orange ☀️🌘🌏💫

Our debut orange wine is here!

Syzygy (rhymes with ‘synergy’) is an alignment of celestial objects such as during an eclipse, or a pairing of connected things that are normally opposites.

Juicy, aromatic spices, chalky phenolics and vibrant.

Four white varieties are handpicked and fermented as whole clusters for 20 days. Six months élevage on full lees.

Unfined and unfiltered with a slight golden haze for maximum flavour and texture. Certified organic.

2024 Rapaura Chardonnay ☀️🍋🍑🌰🥐

The second release of this wine. From 31 year old Mendoza vines grown on alluvial soils. Whole bunch pressed with the heart juice into a select one year old puncheon.

Vibrant and textural. Citrus and white stone fruit.

Unfined and unfiltered. Certified organic.

Introducing Kim 🌟❤️

Co-founder, the true superstar in the team, wearer of many hats and Atípico’s number one Chardonnay fan. Seen here on a trip to Burgundy many moons ago with her nose in a lovely glass of Meursault from Domaine Laflaive.

After moving to Marlborough in 2013 she has been in the region almost long enough to be called a local. With a background and day job that involves Environmental Law and Policy, Atípico is another tangible and delicious connection to our region for Kim.

As we reach halfway (!) through the year she is looking forward to sharing some upcoming wines - spoiler, it includes more Chardonnay!

2024 Under the Plum Tree 🌳 🍇☀️🍷❤️

The current release of the OG Atípico wine.

A vibrant spicy and delicious kaleidoscope of a red from a field blend of Pinot Noir + Blanc + Gris. Co-fermented as whole clusters vinsitu under the plum tree right in the vineyard where it was grown in Rapaura.

Unfined and unfiltered. Certified organic.

Available now online.

Atípico 2024 Under the Plum Tree

Pinot Noir + Gris + Blanc

The fourth edition was fermented vinsitu under the eponymous plum tree as per usual (sneaky Sundial also pictured!).

Gently hand plunged once per day. 9 sunny autumnal days as whole clusters fermenting in the vineyard before being pressed off and now resting in seasoned oak.

Tasting spicy, vibrant and juicy.
