An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full time Diesel Mechanic to join our service and maintenance team in our Ohakea workshop.
Working in a small, hardworking team, you will ensure that all equipment and vehicles are reliable, safe to operate and maintained to COF standard.
You will be responsible for:
• Servicing and maintenance tasks on our company vehicles and equipment, our truck brands are Kenworth, Freightliner and Westernstar. We also have Caterpillar wheel loaders on site.
• Cummins and Detroit engine knowledge is an advantage, we try to complete all rebuilds inhouse.
• Occasionally carry out welding repairs of logging trucks and trailers using MIG welder or arc welder
• Follow established job card, stock management and ordering procedures.
• Comply with our Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in ongoing training and development.
To be successful in this role you are:
• National Certificate in Heavy Motor Industry (Automotive Heavy Engineering) Level 4 or equivalent is preferred.
• New Zealand Class 5 Motor Vehicle Licence(preferred) or equivalent
• 5+ years industry experience
• Practical mechanical aptitude with a commitment to quality workmanship
• Good time management, strong work ethic, and be a collaborative team player.
