Last week we swapped the office for fresh air 🌿

The Treadlite HQ team headed to Sanctuary Mountain, Maungatautari for a day of connection, laughs, and a bit of adventure. A chance to step back, reset, and spend quality time together outside the day-to-day.

We wrapped it up the best way we know how — great food and company at Alpino in Cambridge 🍝✨

We’re proud to share that Treadlite, alongside Selwyn District Council, has been jointly nominated for the Fruehauf Outstanding Contribution to Innovation Award for the Rubber Road Project.

This recognition highlights a truly forward-thinking partnership. We’d like to acknowledge Selwyn District Council for their foresight and willingness to embrace innovation—working with us to deliver New Zealand’s first rubber road, repurposing end-of-life tyres into a practical, sustainable infrastructure solution.

The nomination is now with the judging panel, with the winner to be announced at the Road Freight Industry Awards Dinner on Friday 26 June at Parliament Venues, as part of the Transporting New Zealand 60th Anniversary Conference.

A milestone moment for tyre recycling in New Zealand—and a step forward for smarter, more sustainable roading.

Recently, we helped remove and recycle a 50-tonne stockpile of old tyres from the Christchurch Men’s Prison farm, where they had been used to weigh down silage.

Shoutout to Tyre Tracks - Goodyear Autocare - Te Rapa, Hamilton for reaching this milestone 👏

They’ve helped recycle 100 tonnes of New Zealand tyres — that’s equivalent to:
🏒 2 hockey fields
🛝 3 playgrounds
🚗 75km of roading
🐎 9 horse arenas
