Ceramics!!!

One of the features of nineteenth century ceramics in New Zealand is how colourful many of them can be. SIA's TJ O'Connell presented at this Christchurch Heritage Festival event tonight. TJ joined a number of speakers at Kate Sheppard House telling stories of Christchurch's 19th century dark side as revealed by the city's archaeology. The benefits of working in Kaikoura

Was great to attend the unveiling of three new pou whenua at Kura Tawhiti/Castle Hill this week. SIA provided archaeological support for upgrade works at this site, which were undertaken by a collaboration between Ngāi Tūāhuriri whānui and the Department of Conservation /Te Papa Atawhai (DOC). Exciting news for SIA! Following a rigorous tender process South Island Archaeology is delighted to announce that we have been appointed to Christchurch City Council’s Archaeology Professional Consultants Panel. We are looking forward to joining this panel and supporting CCC with delivery of archaeology and heritage inputs for various infrastructure projects.
