📊 Have you taken part in the GRoWS survey yet?

The Global Radiographer Workforce Survey (GRoWS) is an international initiative exploring trends, challenges and solutions for the radiographer workforce worldwide.

The project is led by the research team at City St George’s, University of London, coordinated by Dr Christina Malamateniou, Reader/Associate Professor FCR and Dr Emily Skelton, and supported by the EFRS European Federation of Radiographer Societies and other international partners.

🌍 To ensure wide participation and accessibility, the survey has been translated into more than 20 languages, allowing professionals from many regions of the world to contribute.

If you are a radiographer, your input is essential to help build a clearer global picture of our profession and inform future workforce planning.

⏱️ The survey takes only a few minutes.

🌸 International Women’s Day 2026 🌸
Today we celebrate the women who lead, innovate, and care across medical imaging and radiation therapy - and the women whose health and wellbeing sit at the heart of our work.

At the NZSMIRT, we are proud to represent professions where wāhine make up a significant part of the workforce and where women’s health needs are central to everyday practice - from breast imaging and gynaecological care, to cancer treatment, pregnancy related imaging, and lifelong health screening.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” reminds us that equity matters not only in our workplaces, but also in how healthcare is designed, delivered, and experienced by female patients. Women deserve care that recognises their unique biology, life stages, and experiences - delivered with dignity, respect, and clinical excellence.

Today we acknowledge:
• the women who deliver expert, compassionate care
• the importance of gender-responsive, patient centred health services
• the need to continue advocating for equity - for our workforce and for the patients we serve.

To all the women in medical imaging and radiation therapy, and to the women whose lives and health we support every day - thank you. When women are seen, heard, and supported, our health system is stronger for everyone.
💜 Happy International Women’s Day 💜

Your perspective is needed in an important 15 minute survey exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in lung cancer screening.
AI is likely to play a role in a future national lung cancer screening programme. For it to be implemented successfully, it must be acceptable to both those delivering screening and those receiving it. Your input will help shape how this is done.
