We had the privilege to help beautiful Nina on her next journey 🌈
This tribute is written by Nina Fur mom

Nina

Nina was beloved by her humans Kathy and Bruce and by all the other humans she touched in her 17 1/2 years of life.

Nina did not know she was a poodle, she thought she was a big farm dog. Spending the majority of her life on the Banks Peninsula, she loved to go hiking and running around her 10 acre playground and she particularly loved to chase sheep.

In her eldering years which she spent in Christchurch, she loved to accompany her human Kathy to Kathy’s workshops, bringing comfort and laughter to attendees. She still loved to walk in the park and snuggle on the couch.

A gentle and regal girl all the way to the end. She knew when it was time. She will be greatly missed and always dearly loved.💕

Elroy was an awesome boy who loved his family and spending a good portion of his older years in his beanbag. Elroy was an awesome boy who loved his family and spending a good portion of his older years in his beanbag. 🌈 Lola 🐾

Lola was a beautiful girl who knew exactly what mattered most in life; good food and the people she loved

She adored her family and cherished the time spent by their side. And, of course, no day was complete without something delicious to enjoy! Food was definitely one of Lola’s great loves, alongside the family who gave her a lifetime filled with love and care.♥️

She may have left a quieter space behind, but the love she shared with her family will remain forever. Lola will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the simple joys she loved so much.💕

🌈 Remembering the high spirited, Sasha 💕

Sasha was a much-loved girl who held a very special place in her family’s hearts. She was happiest being part of family life and, of course, keeping up with all the important neighbourhood happenings.

Her daily walks were less about getting from A to B and more about catching up on the local news, stopping for all the important sniffs and making sure she knew exactly what had been happening around the neighbourhood. 🐾

Sasha also had a serious weakness for chocolate and was always on the lookout for an opportunity to sneak some when nobody was watching. And she certainly wasn’t fussy about presentation, wrappers and all! 🍫

Christmas was particularly exciting for Sasha, as it provided even more opportunities for a little festive thieving. 🎄 She knew exactly where the good stuff was and wasn’t going to let a Christmas celebration pass her by!

Behind all those cheeky antics was a beautiful girl who brought so much love, laughter and personality into the lives of her family. Sasha will be deeply missed, but all those funny little habits and unforgettable moments will be treasured forever.

Remembering the lovely Eva - the Beaver 🐾

Eva, affectionately known as “Beaver” or perhaps more accurately, “Eva the Destroyer,” was certainly a girl who knew how to keep her family on their toes! 🐕

One of her favourite things was camping, especially when she could claim her very own chair and settle in beside her favourite people.
She loved being outdoors, enjoying the adventures and, of course, spending precious time with Mum.

Eva also had a very healthy appreciation for food and an impressive ability to make sure she was never too far away when there was something delicious on offer!

Toys, however, never really stood a chance in Eva’s world.
She had a talent for destroying them, and even the bed pillows eventually found themselves on the wrong side of Eva’s determination.
Nothing was safe from this little destroyer!

But behind all that mischief was a deeply loved girl who brought so much personality, laughter and companionship into her family’s lives. Eva was one of those unforgettable characters who leaves a very big pawprint behind.

Rest peacefully, beautiful Eva.
Your family will miss your love, your adventures, your cheeky ways and perhaps even having to replace all those toys and pillows! 💕🐾

🐾Remembering the adventurous Sasha 🌈
Sasha was a beautiful girl who found her forever home after being rehomed through Dogwatch. From there, she went on to live a wonderful life surrounded by the people she loved most.
She loved nothing more than chasing rabbits through the red zone, although, despite her best efforts, they were always just a little bit faster than her! 🐇 She also treasured her quiet time with her family, happily settling into her big, comfy bed for a well earned rest.
When playtime came around, Sasha was always ready for some fun with her favourite rope toy. She could perform all sorts of clever tricks with it, showing just how smart and playful she was, although there was one very important rule: don’t expect Sasha to share!
Sasha had a wonderful personality and a beautiful way of making herself at home. She knew what she liked, loved her family deeply, and brought so much character, companionship and happiness into their lives.
Her family will forever cherish the memories of their beautiful girl; from rabbit-chasing adventures to cosy afternoons on her favourite bed and all the little moments in between.
Run free, beautiful Sasha. You were loved, you were cherished, and you will never be forgotten. 💕🐾🌈

Remembering the gentle soul Eddie, we would like to share some beautiful words from his family❤️

Eddie came to us at 8 weeks old, a proud and confident little guy who flew down from the North Island in a big crate with a little pink blanket. That pink blanket stayed with him to the end. He was named by my nephews in honour of Sir Edmund Hillary for the snowy mountains he climbed.

Eddie was a clever, curious and stubborn puppy. Luckily he immediately bonded with Gizmo, one of our older rescue dogs. They were inseparable. Gizmo took him under his wing and showed him how to navigate the dog world with a little more ease.

Eddie had the most soulful eyes. So big, dark and deep. You could tell there was a lot more to him than just a goofy Boxer. He was very observant and alert. He missed nothing. He took on the household roles of guardian, timekeeper and compliance officer. I swear, if he could wear a hat, it would be a hard hat, and he’d carry a clipboard.

Eddie had challenges with his health and behaviour. Because of him, I learned to be an owner who paid attention, kept notes, sought help and asked questions. He taught me the importance of advocating for my pets, navigating healthcare systems and understanding the value of good nutrition.

He will always be in our hearts. We miss his zoomies and his intense curmudgeon like stares with deep Boxer breaths when we weren’t following the rules. It’s not the same without the flurries of white fur and litres of watery slobber spread from his water bowl. We love you Eddie bear🥰
