Can we talk about "comment below" and "message me for the price"?

I'm scrolling, I'm interested, I'm ready to buy - and then I hit a wall. Comment so the algorithm sees me. Message you so you can slide into a chat I didn't ask for. All I wanted was the price.

I'm not shy. I'm not playing hard to get. I just want to know what it costs, what I get for it, and how to pay - without performing interest in public or starting a conversation I didn't sign up for.

Here's the thing - I get why you're doing it. Comments and messages build engagement, and engagement is currency right now. So if you're going to run it that way, at least cover both bases. I've watched an offer get promoted exactly like this - comment, message me - and I scrolled straight past it. Then the link went up in their stories and bio, and I bought. I wouldn't have otherwise.

That's the gap. Some of us will play along. Some of us just want the link. If you only build for the first group, you're quietly losing the second.

So here's what I'd ask: keep your engagement post if it's working for you, but always have the link somewhere close by - bio, stories, pinned comment.

Let people choose their own way in.

A year and a half ago I built a website for Lisa at Embrace Your Calm - a home for her magic and the many life-changing offerings she holds.

Today I sat in one of her Red Tent (North Canterbury) circles, with the inspiring Jane Catherine Severn of Luna House as speaker. Something activated in me, another layer, and I can't wait to dive into this book.

Thank you to both of these women for sharing such wisdom and grace.

Honestly, there are SO many amazing humans in this world.

Two websites went live yesterday; one WordPress, one Squarespace. The platforms weren't an accident.

Moon Womb is Danika's beautiful herbal tea business here in Ōtautahi. She's a herbalist, doula and mum, and her blends support women through every season of their cycle - different teas for different phases, crafted to work with your body rather than against it. Her site is built on Squarespace, because Danika needed something she could confidently manage herself - updating products, making changes, keeping it current day to day without needing to wait on anyone.

The Alexander Technique Teachers' Society of Aotearoa New Zealand needed something different: a custom WordPress build with the structure to serve a national organisation, helping people understand the technique and find a qualified teacher anywhere in New Zealand.

This is something I talk about with every client before we build anything. It's about how you'll actually live with your website. Who's updating it? How often? What does it need to do in two years, not just at launch?

Two very different answers. Two websites doing exactly what their owners need.

Go and take a look at both - and if you know a woman who'd love herbal support through her cycle, Danika's blends are something special.

Try this for the next few days: the door test.

Each time you sit down to a task, notice: am I leaning in, or am I pushing? Don’t change anything yet. Just notice. Keep a little tally if you like.

Most women are surprised by how much of their week is push.

Come back and tell me what you noticed. No judgement here. Awareness first, always.

There's a difference between pushing and responding.

One drains you, one builds you.

Notice which one you've been doing lately, your body already knows the answer.

A question for the reliable ones.

If you knew, really knew, that everyone you look after would be fine without you for a season, what would you build with that time?

Not the sensible answer. The real one.

I’d love to hear it. Sometimes saying the dream out loud is the first brick.

For the woman who's always been the safe pair of hands; at work, at home, in every room she's ever stood in.

Being reliable was never supposed to cost you your own vision.

This week’s experiment: put one thing down.

Not forever. Not dramatically. Just choose one task, role, or responsibility you’ve been carrying because you can and let it sit, get delegated, or go undone for one week.

Then notice what happens. To the task. To everyone around you. To your energy.

What are you putting down? Say it here, naming it out loud makes it real.

Capability is a gift, but it's also a trap.

Just because you can hold it all doesn't mean you're meant to.

This week, let one thing go that was never yours.
