RISE 2014 - Realising Innovation Success & Enterprise: Run by Kate Webb
For all women serious about business and personal success....

Inspirational Events for Women Serious about Business & Success - RISE 2012 started with an inaugural SELL OUT event in Marlborough on 16th February. From here, requests were made to bring the format of this inspiratio

nal forum to Christchurch, Nelson, Dunedin and Oamaru. RISE 2013 saw increased events with new sponsors coming on board to support the forum, and more incredible speakers. We are now in our third consecutive year and RISE 2014 events are being planned. Registration for these events always includes an amazing line up of Inspirational Key Speakers; a fantastic day of up-skilling, networking, business tips, gems of advice from those who have tried and tested the many different routes to business success, plus the chance to network with women in business.....Also of course you will be fed and watered throughout the day, as the day includes morning & afternoon tea, a light lunch, and even a goodie bag! Each event aims to mix up the speakers slightly, to fit with the region. There will be break out workshops; networking opportunities to increase your business potential; other gems of advice to help you and your business, and the chance to plan your business activities. This event SOLD OUT in a few of our regions, and was a phenomenal success!! Bookings for RISE 2014 Events have already started and are available by searching for RISE and the region on www.eventbrite.co.nz Or you can contact Kate Webb: 027 229 2001 OR email Kate: [email protected] for further information.

Today is Women’s Suffrage Day in New Zealand. Sadly it’s also the day that US Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, has passed away. Those who fought for the right for women to vote knew there were other challenges ahead in the battle for equality. People like Ruth Bader Ginsburg carried on that fight. She was tireless, determined, and made an immeasurable difference to the lives of so many. RIP to the notorious RBG.

Congratulations Jane Harding - Supreme Winner, Women of Influence 2019.

Prof Jane Harding has spent more than four decades improving health outcomes for newborns. She assembles, supports and leads international multi-disciplinary teams to address critical questions in perinatal medicine through world-first research. Her recent work on the ‘Sugar Babies’ trial showed that a simple dextrose (sugar) gel is an effective and safe treatment for the approximately 10,000 babies in New Zealand each year who develop low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia). The findings, published in The Lancet, changed medical practice globally. As a result, 90% of New Zealand hospitals are using dextrose gel, halving rates of neonatal intensive care admission for this problem, keeping mothers and babies together, improving the rates of successful breastfeeding and saving approximately $7 million annually.

A Rhodes scholar, Jane’s honours include a 2018 Vice-Chancellor’s Research Excellence Medal from the University of Auckland, a 2017 Siegel Outstanding Science Award from the American Pediatric Society, the 2016 Beaven Medal for translational research from the Health Research Council of New Zealand, a 2014 Gluckman Medal from the University of Auckland, a 2014 Howard Williams Medal from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and being named North & South magazine’s 2004 New Zealander of the Year.

The judges described Professor Harding’s achievements as exceptional, saying she has left a worldwide legacy and continues to make an impact in her field.

This is worth watching to the end... it’s a powerful message around the fact that we can all have differing beliefs and still be kind at the same time! Thank you Wendy Davie for the share 🙏🏼🙌🏼👌🏼
