Profile Group Exclusively focused on Accounting, Finance and Administration recruitment across Canterbury

Profile Group focuses exclusively on Accounting, Technology, Executive and Business Support recruitment across Canterbury, Wellington & Auckland. Our consultants have a longstanding reputation and presence within the local market for our expertise and approach. We believe in matching a personality to the business equally as much as skills to the role, with focus firmly on career and employability management rather than the ‘next move’. Our values are based on honesty, openness and transparency in service and we place equal importance on both candidates and clients as both are pivotal to business.

We’re always pleased to hear when a client has had a great experience with the team.

The best kind of feedback is feedback that speaks to consistency; quality candidates, the right fit and a recruitment process that takes the pressure off our clients.

A great reflection of the work Issy puts into understanding her clients and finding the right people for their teams. Well done, Issy 👏

The Profile Group team recently attended the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand CAANZ Canterbury Conference 2026, joining over 200 professionals for a day focused on “Navigating Tomorrow: Adaptability in Action.”

With conversations reaching across leadership, strategy, economic outlooks and resilience, the day reinforced just how important it is to stay adaptable in a changing environment.

Just before the lunch break, Louis Bentley shared a personal experience that has shaped his appreciation for strong professional institutions and why Profile Group operates the way it does.

Throughout the day, the team connected with members, exchanged ideas, and gained insights to carry forward into their work.

A valuable event to be part of, alongside a highly engaged professional community.

Meet the team! This week - Simon Lawrence

Simon began his career in technology retail in the UK during both the home PC and smartphone booms. After 15 years across two successful multi-national business, including taking a high street mobile retail store to top 10 in the UK, he found a home in accountancy and finance recruitment in 2016. After 6 years working in the UK, he took the opportunity to make a move 12 time zones across the world and started his New Zealand journey in Dunedin.

Joining Profile Group in December 2025, Simon brought his near decade of finance knowledge, his relentless drive and mildly outré music tastes to the existing team of high performing experts. Across his recruiting career he had both led teams and had great leaders, and he brings both of those passions with him as well.

Simon's other roles include father of five, gym enthusiast and amateur strongman, and avoider of injuries (unsuccessfully).
