Back into creation mode today. It’s been a while since I’ve posted but I’m still here doing my thing!
Today I’m busy making 2 cakes for a gorgeous little girls 1st birthday. A Minnie Mouse cake for her party and her mum has asked for a special wee pink cake for her to do a Cake Smash photo shoot too.
So exciting getting my cake on again!

Well this project was another first for me with some fun challenges.
I’d never done a drip cake or a naked cake (thin cover of buttercream over whole cake) but I have a lot of fun.

A 40th birthday cake for my bestie Della’s Turkish Delight lover of a hubby.
Chocolate mud cake filled and covered with handmade Turkish Delight buttercream icing, then dripped with delicious dark Whittaker’s chocolate and topped with an assortment of Turkish Delights and other chocolatey goodness.

Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything but it’s been a hectic few weeks in the lead up to Christmas.
Today I got to teach my friend and her boy some of the arts of cake decorating.
Together we made this Rustic, Perfectly Imperfect, Gluten and Dairy Free, Vanilla Butter Cake with a Lolly Cascade topping.
I’m pretty impressed with Jo’s icing and Master 6’s (Luka) decorating skills.

Had fun creating again this weekend. I got a request to make a music cake for a beautiful little 7 year old girl who loves to perform, dance and sing. Very happy with the outcome right up until her mum came to collect it and as we were talking a very top heavy piece came off and damaged the roses on the side, so a quick fix up to re-ice the side and she was on her way. Thank goodness it wasn’t irreparable.
