🇳🇿 Major Changes Are Coming to Annual and Sick Leave in New Zealand

New Zealand Parliament has passed the Employment Leave Bill, paving the way for a major overhaul of how workplace leave is calculated.

Under the new system, annual and sick leave will accrue in hours based on contracted hours worked, with employees able to access leave from their first day. Other changes include a 12.5% Leave Compensation Payment for additional and casual hours, greater flexibility around cashing up annual leave and new rules for employees returning from parental leave.

Businesses and payroll providers will have a 24-month lead-in period to prepare for the new system.

Standing 328 metres above downtown Auckland, the Sky Tower is one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, and the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere.

Head up to the observation decks for panoramic views across Auckland Harbour, Rangitoto Island and the city’s volcanic landscape, or test your nerve on the glass floor panels. For something more adventurous, there’s also the SkyWalk and SkyJump.
