Well… turns out my last post was me sharing last year’s Virtual Assistant Network of NZ member badge 😅 so here I am again proudly sharing my 2026 VANNZ Member badge!

Life has been busy (three little girls will do that 💕), but I have very much still been working as a Virtual Assistant!

Over the past few years I’ve really found my niche working with Mortgage Advisers and I absolutely love the flexibility it provides and the difference it allows me to make in my clients’ days. Helping them work more efficiently, freeing up their time and supporting them so they can focus on growing other areas of their business is what I enjoy most.

For my Mortgage Adviser clients, I support them with:

• Loan writing
• UMI calculators
• Fixed rate rollovers
• Collating and reviewing supporting documents (checking what’s missing and what else we need from the customer)
• Handovers
• Email inbox management
• CRM management
• And any other tasks my clients wish to offload!

Still here, still loving what I do — just balancing business and Mum life 😅🩷

Social Media! 📱💻

If you have a business, how often do you post on social media? Some experts suggest posting once a day or even multiple times a day!

What about as a Consumer? Personally, I find it doesn’t matter how often a business posts on their social media, as long as what they’re posting is quality information …. Interesting facts or helpful tips for example.

As a business owner, I know right now I’m not utilising social media nearly as much as I should be! If you’re fully booked and really busy, it’s easy to neglect this side of your business, but it’s important to prioritise keeping your social media pages up to date and posting valuable content ….. at least every now and again, even if just to show potential customers you are still in business!!

Here’s some tips from solopreneurdiaries.com …. Automation, scheduling and focusing on just 1-2 social media platforms is what sticks out for me …. That and of course hiring a Social Media Virtual Assistant - brilliant idea! 🤩

I talk a lot about the return on your investment in a Virtual Assistant, being 100% productive time ⏰

I wanted to share a ‘behind the scene’ clip, showing exactly how my Clients money is spent! 💵

I use a time tracking app called Toggl, so when I sit down to complete a task for a Client I hit that little timer button and EVERY time I need to take a break, answer a call, refill my water bottle, the pause button gets pressed! ⏸

My Clients get billed for the time spent on ACTUALLY completing their tasks …. unlike an employee where there’s bathroom breaks, office chat, checking your personal phone, grabbing a cuppa, being late!

One of the best pieces of advice I ever received! 🤩

Take imperfect action .... Just start! Nobody cares if you start your business or not - only you!

This advice struck me to my perfectionist core .... I thought I had to have EVERYTHING perfect, be prepared for EVERY possible scenario and I was terrified of the judgement I'd receive when I did put myself out there ...

But I realised after hearing this piece of advice that I was holding myself back and I needed to overcome this unrealistic idea, that I had to have everything absolutely perfect before 'launching'

So I went for it! I put myself out there and faked confidence until it felt like real confidence and you know what?! By actually starting, I figured all the things I had been worried about out as I came across them ... and it was fine! 😅

Who else has found starting a business one massive learning curve with extreme highs and extreme lows? 🤯

As most small business owners will agree, in order to keep on top of all the day to day tasks, as well as grow your business, there will eventually come a time where you'll need to enlist some extra help!
