Proctor Auctions ASSISTANT MANAGER – Dunedin
Proctor Auctions is a third-generation family auction house specialising in antiques, collectables and jewellery. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Auction House Assistant Manager to join our team and help run the day-to-day operations of our busy auction rooms.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, physical work, and the fascinating world of antiques and collectables.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the intake and cataloguing of auction items
Moving and handling furniture and auction goods
Preparing and staging items for auction
Photography of auction lots for catalogues and online listings
Assisting with auction day operations
General auction house duties and customer interaction
About You
Able to drive a manual vehicle
Physically capable of lifting and moving furniture
Reliable, organised and able to work independently
A genuine interest in antiques, collectables or history
Willing to learn new skills in the auction industry
Good communication and customer service skills
Advantageous (but not essential)
Photography experience
Auctioneering experience or an interest in learning
Experience with antiques, collectables, or second-hand goods
