Until now, most caps and lids taken out of kerbside recycling have been heading straight to landfill – but that’s changing.
A new Caps & Lids Recycling Scheme, run by The Packaging Forum, means you can now drop off your plastic and metal caps and lids at collection boxes in selected New World, PAK’nSAVE and Four Square stores (with more locations rolling out). These caps and lids are then sorted and recycled into new products, keeping valuable material in the circular economy and out of New Zealand landfills.

Start saving your caps and lids, and look out for the collection boxes in your local store.

🌿 Operation Clean Up Success! 🌿

A big shout-out to our amazing Forward Plastics team who took part in Operation Clean Up Week on Thursday 6 November, organised by Plastics NZ 💪

We spent the morning cleaning up a local green space park in the Highbrook area, helping make our community a cleaner, greener place. It was a great day to be outdoors, having a laugh, and doing something meaningful together 🌞♻️

🏆 Team highlights:
✨ Lovepreet won the prize for Weirdest Find — a child’s ride-on car (you never know what you’ll discover out there!)
💪 Silao earned Best Effort, covering the widest area and collecting the most rubbish — an absolute legend!

We’re so proud of everyone who joined in and showed their Forward Plastics spirit. Thank you for representing us so well and helping keep New Zealand beautiful 💚
