🏐 🖤 Netball fever took over Auckland this weekend!

We loved being part of the Meet the Silver Ferns fan event at Te Komititanga, where fans came together to celebrate an incredible year for the Silver Ferns ahead of the Constellation Cup.

The star of our stand? Ruby, our electric rubbish truck ambassador! 🚛 ⚡ From photos and high-fives to plenty of curious questions, Ruby was a huge hit with fans of all ages and loved meeting future sustainability champions.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, learn more about what we do, and join in the excitement ahead of Sunday's big match.

Good luck to the Silver Ferns as they begin their Constellation Cup campaign. We'll be cheering you on all the way!

How are you, really? 💛 This year's Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that a simple conversation can make a real difference.

As part of our ongoing partnership with Hato Hone St John, we've been working to equip our people with the knowledge and confidence to recognise when someone might be struggling, start supportive conversations, and know where to seek help when it's needed.

Mental health is something we all experience, and checking in doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is ask a genuine question and take the time to listen to the answer. 💬

This week, we're encouraging everyone to pause, check in with the people around them, and ask: "How are you, really?" 💛

Congratulations to Vicky Taggart on this well-deserved recognition as Christchurch Netball Centre’s WM Volunteer of the Month.👏

Her passion for people, community and helping young athletes thrive is what makes grassroots sport so special. We're proud to support volunteers who help make netball possible across Aotearoa. 💚🏐

Vicky Taggart was just 12 when she first picked up a whistle as an umpire. By 15, she was coaching and beginning a volunteer journey that has now spanned 14 years.

While her roles have changed over time, the reason she keeps returning has not.

A New Chapter for WM Dunedin 🚛♻️ This week marks an exciting milestone as we officially move into our new Dunedin Supersite.

This investment represents much more than a new facility. It strengthens our capability to support our customers, drive sustainability outcomes, grow our recycling and dewatering services, expand tyre collection operations, and create opportunities for our team well into the future.

A move of this scale takes a huge amount of planning, teamwork, and commitment. I want to sincerely thank every member of the team who helped make it happen. Throughout the transition, they kept the focus where it belongs: ensuring no bin was left behind, maintaining service delivery, and continuing to look after our customers every day.

The move also gave us an opportunity to celebrate someone who has played a significant role in shaping our Dunedin operations.

After a long and distinguished career with WM, Allen Nesbit is retiring from his role as Operations Supervisor. Allen's leadership, commitment, and dedication have left a lasting legacy that will be felt for many years to come.

In recognition of his contribution, we were proud to officially name a dedicated room at the new site "The Nesbit Room." A fitting tribute to a true WM legend.
