A new chapter for PC Heat Pumps & Electrical
After a lot of years, plenty of long days, and probably more than a few late-night phone calls, Nisha and I are pleased to let everyone know that we have sold PC Heat Pumps & Electrical to DDS from Dannevirke.
The good news is that PC Heat Pumps & Electrical will continue operating here with the same great team, so for our customers it will very much be business as usual.
I’ll also be staying on part-time for a while, mainly helping with quoting and making sure the transition goes smoothly, until either one of our existing team steps up into the role or DDS brings in a manager to take my place.
Nisha and I have genuinely enjoyed working with everyone over the years. As anyone who has owned a small business will know, it can sometimes feel like a 24/7 job, but there have been a lot of rewards along the way.
One of the things we're particularly proud of is the team we've built. We've had some fantastic people work alongside us, we've seen apprentices come through and become qualified tradespeople, and we still have a couple more on their way. There’s a pretty good feeling that comes from knowing you've helped someone learn a trade, develop some life skills and ultimately give them the ability to provide for themselves and their family.
To all our customers, thank you for trusting us in your homes and businesses. It has been a real honour. Some of you have been with us for many years, and the relationships we've made have been one of the best parts of running the business.
The same goes for all the builders, property managers, suppliers, contractors and other businesses we've worked alongside. We've been fortunate to deal with some fantastic people, and our suppliers in particular have always looked after us extremely well. I'm confident they'll give DDS and the PC Heat Pumps team the same support going forward.
Most importantly, we're really happy with who the business is going to. DDS is a fantastic company, and we're confident they'll look after our staff and customers and continue the relationships we've built over the years.
Now, I’d love to say this means I’ll be kicking back and doing nothing, but anyone who knows me will know that’s just not me!
So for me it’ll be full speed ahead with Mallets Shed — car restorations, old machinery, building and fixing things, and whatever else happens to take my fancy. I might even build myself a little jet engine for sh*ts and giggles!
The difference is, hopefully I’ll be doing these things because I want to, rather than because the phone is ringing and somebody needs me there yesterday.
Nisha and I are really looking forward to this next chapter, while still being around to help PC Heat Pumps & Electrical and the new owners through the transition.
So, a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us, worked with us, worked for us, recommended us, supplied us, or simply trusted us to get the job done over all these years.
It’s been one hell of a ride — and I’m definitely not finished yet.
