We’re growing our team at Mt Rosa Wines in beautiful Gibbston, and we’re on the lookout for a few friendly, enthusiastic people to join us!

We’re a family-owned vineyard and cellar door with a simple approach to hospitality: great w**e, genuine welcomes, good conversation and making sure everyone who visits leaves with a smile.

We’re looking for people who love meeting others, enjoy being part of a small, hardworking team and take pride in giving guests a memorable experience.

And here’s the best bit – you don’t need to be a w**e expert!

We can teach you all about our w**es, our vineyard and the stories behind Mt Rosa. What matters most to us is a great personality, a positive attitude and a genuine love of looking after people.

What you’ll be doing

• Welcoming guests and making them feel at home
• Hosting relaxed, fun and engaging w**e tastings
• Sharing the Mt Rosa story and helping guests discover w**es they’ll love
• Serving food, platters and drinks
• Taking bookings and processing sales
• Helping with events, private functions and occasional evening service
• Keeping our cellar door looking its best
• Being part of a friendly team where everyone mucks in.

Who we’re looking for

We’re not expecting everyone to have the same background or experience. We’re simply looking for great people who will fit into our team.

What matters to us is that you’re:

• Warm, friendly and confident with people
• Enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn
• Comfortable working as part of a small team
• Happy to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in
• Able to keep smiling even when things get busy
• Available to work weekends and very occasional evenings
• Able to get yourself to Gibbston with reliable transport
• Legally entitled to work in New Zealand

Experience in hospitality, tourism, retail or w**e is a bonus, but the right attitude and personality are far more important to us.

We’re looking for a warm, friendly and enthusiastic person to join our cellar door team at Mt Rosa Wines in Gibbston.

Mt Rosa is a family-owned vineyard and cellar door where we want every guest to receive a genuine welcome, enjoy some fantastic Central Otago w**e and leave feeling that they’ve experienced something a little bit special.

This is a hands-on hospitality role suited to someone who enjoys meeting people, works well as part of a small team and takes pride in creating a relaxed and memorable experience for our visitors.

Venue Manager

Mt Rosa Wines | Gibbston, Central Otago

We’re looking for an exceptional Venue Manager to join us at Mt Rosa Wines in the heart of the Gibbston Valley.

Mt Rosa is a family-owned vineyard, cellar door and hospitality venue, and since taking over earlier this year we’ve been putting our own stamp on the business while respecting everything that has made Mt Rosa special over the years.

There’s plenty happening at Mt Rosa. Alongside our cellar door, w**e tastings, food, Friday night dinners, private functions and group bookings, we’re continuing to develop the hospitality side of the business, including the upcoming Mt Rosa Bakehouse.

We’re now looking for someone to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the venue and our customer-facing operations, working closely alongside us as owners.

This is a hands-on role. We want someone who enjoys being on the floor with the team and our guests, but who can also step back and make sure the people, systems, standards and numbers behind the operation are working properly.

You’ll be responsible for leading the team, maintaining excellent hospitality standards, managing rosters and day-to-day operations, overseeing bookings and functions, helping drive w**e and food sales, developing our w**e club, and playing a key role as the Mt Rosa hospitality offering continues to grow.

We’re not necessarily looking for someone who knows everything there is to know about w**e. We’re looking for someone who is great with people, commercially switched-on, organised, energetic and genuinely enjoys hospitality.

Previous hospitality or venue management experience would be ideal, along with a current Duty Manager’s Certificate or the ability to obtain one.

Most importantly, we want someone who will treat Mt Rosa as if it matters — because to us, it really does.

Full-time position. Remuneration based on experience.

🍷 International Pinot Noir Day | Tomorrow, 18 August

If there’s one day we’re particularly happy to celebrate here in Gibbston, it’s this one!

Pinot Noir is at the heart of what we do at Mt Rosa, grown right here in one of the most exciting Pinot Noir regions in the world.

And this year, we’ve got a few different bottles to tell the story…

Four bottles. Three vintages. One vineyard.

From our 2020 Pinot Noir and Reserve, through to the 2021, and a little glimpse into the future with our 2024 Clone Unknown.

Different seasons, different vintages and different expressions of Pinot Noir, all grown right here in Gibbston.

Pinot has been part of the Mt Rosa story for many years, and as the new custodians of this special little corner of Central Otago, we feel incredibly lucky to be carrying that story forward.

Here’s to the grape that Central Otago does rather well. 🍇🍷🇳🇿❤️

We’re hiring! 🍷

We’re looking for a new General Manager to join the Mt Rosa team and help shape the next chapter of our growing family business.

It’s an exciting time at Mt Rosa. We’re expanding the site with a new Bakehouse, due to open later this year, alongside a purpose-built space from which Kiwi Journeys will operate. We’re also looking to grow our w**e club, trade sales and events offering.

We’re looking for a warm, capable and enthusiastic person to oversee the hospitality, retail and trade sides of the business and work collaboratively with us as Mt Rosa continues to grow.

The role will not include responsibility for vineyard operations or w**emaking. The vineyard will continue to be looked after by Greg and Gary, our viticulturist, while our w**es are made by our dedicated w**emaking team.

We welcome applications from experienced managers, as well as supervisors, duty managers and assistant managers who feel ready to take the next step.
