A good little workhorse.

The MD500 has been around for decades and still has a strong following for good reason. Light, agile and well suited to a wide range of commercial roles, it remains a very capable helicopter for its size.

A great example of an aircraft type that continues to earn its place in the New Zealand helicopter industry.

A pretty special night for NR Aviation.

NR Aviation Director Blair Judd was recently presented with the 2026 Eye in the Sky Leader in Aviation Award at the Aviation Industry Association of New Zealand Awards.

Aviation has been a significant part of Blair’s life for many years — from flying and aircraft ownership through to operating aviation businesses, flight training and building NR Aviation’s aircraft leasing fleet.

The award recognises leadership that has contributed to developing, strengthening and growing businesses within New Zealand’s aviation industry.

For us, though, the best part of aviation has always been the people. We’ve had the opportunity to work with some fantastic operators, pilots, engineers and businesses throughout New Zealand, many of whom have played a part in the NR Aviation journey.

A huge thank you to AIANZ and Eye in the Sky for the recognition, and to everyone who has supported Blair and NR Aviation along the way.

We’re looking forward to what comes next.
