We started importing French products in 2001 and opened our showroom in November 2004 to cater for a need of gourmet outlet in the Waikato area. Our goal was to provide high quality French and Mediterranean gourmet food and wine at an affordable price. We import the majority of the products we sell at La Cave. We believe our shop has the largest selection of imported French food, wine and liqueur
in New Zealand. We deal directly with producers which have been recognized as one of the best in their field. They use high quality natural ingredients and apply traditional recipes to produce outstanding products. We do visit them regularly and taste each product we import to guarantee that the quality is always as its best. We can also source special products for clients, as we are in contact with most importers of French or European food ingredient and wine. Our product range includes artisan’s terrines and meat preserves form the South west of France, Foie Gras Rougie, Fish preserves from Connetable, oldest cannery in the world, Delouis mustards - 5 times award winner of the world competition, traditional vinegars, top quality oils, top quality jams & fruit preserves from the Pyrenees, amazing French bread and pastries, exceptional wines from most of the French regions and of course a large selection of French cheese…
