Socrates was also sentenced to death for asking questions.

Holding sadness and anger.

And gratitude.

Thank you Charlie.

While it’s not a bad thing to look at the achievements of those who reside in the ‘Hall of Fame’ - they can inspire and motivate us - might it serve us better, on a more pragmatic level, to understand the lesser noticed elements that go toward building greatness?

The song “Wake a Change” by Evergrey is call to action; an invitation to see the low moments in our lives as a catalyst for change.

The attached lyrics acknowledge the isolation we can experience when we are disconnected from others.

How then do we as individuals begin to connect with others, especially during tough times, to counter those feelings of isolation?

Why is this so hard to do for many?

Is it possible to do so in small, more easily undertaken ways, to at least begin that process?

TUCSON, AZ — Staff at Vertical Abundant Grace are scratching their heads wondering why there is little to no attendance at their most recent Men's Conference. The sharp decline has caused many to reevaluate what's not working about getting a bunch of men together to cry about all their problems an...

Not sure where the statistic comes from (could be completely made up), but hey ...

The message remains strong; give a mate a call and touch base - even if it's just to talk s**t (eg. made up stats).

The opposite of lockdown is open up.

And now, more than ever, is a time to talk, reach out and check in with those people that mean the most to you.

Most men believe that talking can help. Over three quarters of men (77%) think that talking is an effective way to deal with problems, and 76% believe that talking openly can have a positive impact on mental health.

So, this weekend you may not be able to go out, but it doesn't mean you can't hang out.

Grab your phone and talk to a mate. Bridge the distance.

Make the call.

Music for me has always been a part of my 'therapy', so of course I'm always interested in the stories of other musicians. Here's a clip from a new series of videos by Revolver Magazine. Cheers, Pete.

In Revolver's video series "Rise Above," artists open up about the personal and creative adversity they've faced and reveal how they turn such struggles into...

I understand that Valentines day isn't a particularly happy day for some - depending on circumstances / life experiences etc. but, for those that were swept up in the romance of it all, this might provide some understanding of what is going on inside your brain.

A Valentine's music video from Skunk Bear explores the ways your brain and body change when you fall in love — and change again as love deepens and matures.

Works for grown ups too. When we understand what's going on upstairs it often reduces a large portion of the anxiety, and thus we can begin to better deal with other stuff going on. None of us are immune to s**t happening, but we can learn to cope better with it if we understand some of the mechanics of our brain.

Imagine this. You’re travelling along the freeway when your brakes feel as though they might fail. They’re working, but something feels off. This has never happened before. You drive the car to the closest mechanic. After a thorough inspection of the car, you’re told everything is fine and the...
