We are incredibly proud to celebrate a huge milestone for our sponsored driver, Chris White, who has been crowned the 2025-26 Bridgestone TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand GR86 Championship winner after a dramatic and weather affected final round at Taupō International Motorsport Park.

Chris secured the championship following a shortened weekend, with the final Sunday race cancelled due to an incoming weather event. This decision meant the Saturday races would decide the title, and Chris delivered when it mattered most, finishing second in the final race to seal the championship outright.

We would like to thank Mike James at NOVUS New Zealand and Hamilton Windscreens for their support this season with organising replacement windscreens to be supplied and fitted rapidly.

5R Solutions is proud to announce we have now surpassed 500,000 Tonnes of glass recycled and diverted from landfills. This milestone marks a significant achievement for our team and for New Zealand’s circular economy.

Since starting in 2009, 5R Solutions has continued to grow year on year driven by a clear purpose: to recover, process, and recycle glass to ensure we preserve natural resources for future generations. What begun as a small operation has evolved into a nationwide network, working with industry partners to keep glass in circulation and out of landfill.

Reaching half a million tonnes recycled is the result of sustained innovation and collaboration across the supply chain. From construction and demolition, to automotive, and most recently glass insulators, 5R Solutions has focused on turning what was once a product only sent to landfill to utilise its infinite reusability by reusing recovered glass in new glass products.

We recently celebrated the official opening of our new Auckland facility, an important milestone in 5R’s ongoing commitment to building resilient, future‑focused infrastructure for Aotearoa’s resource recovery sector.

Purpose‑built to support our long‑term vision, the new facility incorporates a range of sustainability features, including a solar array and rainwater harvesting systems. These elements reflect not only how we operate today, but the direction we are taking as a business: investing in smarter, more sustainable ways to recover valuable materials and reduce waste.

The opening was proudly officiated by the Honorable Chris Penk, alongside Martin Cooper, Kaumatua of Tainui Waka, and Auckland Councillor Alf Filipaina. We were honoured by their presence and grateful for their support of the work being done within New Zealand’s circular economy.

It was also a pleasure to welcome many of our long‑standing customers and suppliers to the event. Their continued partnership has played a vital role in 5R’s journey, and the opening provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on shared progress and future opportunities together.

A special acknowledgement goes to Brent Nicholls and the Pascoe Group, who have become the first tenant in this new development. Their support has been instrumental in bringing this project to life, and we look forward to a strong relationship as the site continues to grow and evolve.

Above all, we extend our sincere thanks to the 5R team. From planning to delivery, their professionalism and commitment ensured the event was executed to an exceptionally high standard. The opening of the Auckland facility stands as a testament to their dedication and to the collective effort behind everything we do at 5R.

A huge thank you to Mike James for connecting us with Scotty from NOVUS New Zealand – Invercargill to answer the urgent SOS for Chris White Motorsport.
After practice on Thursday, Chris White’s windscreen was left in terrible condition from spray off the car in front, making the upcoming race weekend extremely challenging. One call to Mike on Thursday evening, and by Friday Scotty had the screen replaced - meaning Chris was back on track for the weekend.

Chris went on to qualify P2 on Saturday… and then WON!
Leading into Sunday, Chris managed to finish P6 in race 2 and then took the race win in race 3. Overall Chris was the round winner for Round 3 of the GR86 Championship at Teretonga!

Massive appreciation to Scotty and the entire team at NOVUS Invercargill for going above and beyond with true top-tier customer service. Absolutely outstanding effort.
And keeping things sustainable, the old windscreen is heading to 5R Solutions Limited for recycling. ♻️
