Now this is a challenging pipe installation! 😲

Contractors abseiled down a 35m high slip face to install EUROFLO® drainage pipe as part of a major road repair in Northland.

With around 93,000 m³ of material removed and 1 km of drainage installed, this was no small job!

And when you're working on a slope like that, having pipe that weighs less than 10% of equivalent concrete pipe makes a huge difference.

Spring grass is taking off. But what about that one wet corner?

While the rest of the paddock is growing like mad, some areas are still struggling to dry out.

Waterlogged soils can hold back root growth, slow soil warming and make it harder for pasture to make the most of the spring growing season.

Good drainage isn't just about getting rid of puddles. It's about giving pasture the conditions it needs to grow.

If you've got areas that consistently lag behind, it might be worth looking at what's happening below the surface.

Winter has finished its annual farm infrastructure inspection. How did yours score?

Washed-out tracks?
Water backing up at crossings?
Culverts struggling during heavy rain?
Wet areas taking too long to recover?

Now is a good time to walk the farm and make a list of what winter exposed while the problem areas are still fresh in your mind.

Some will need a quick repair. Others might be telling you the existing infrastructure simply isn't big enough for the job anymore.

If several smaller drains are feeding into one main, that main has to carry everything they collect.

Sometimes a product spec doesn’t mean much until you put it in perspective.

This is what a 5.8 m length of EUROFLO looks like.

Long, rigid lengths mean fewer joins across a run, while the lightweight HDPE construction makes getting it into position a whole lot more manageable than its size might suggest.

Big pipe doesn’t necessarily have to mean a big handling job.

Where does EUROFLO® Slotted really earn its keep?

Think about the tougher drainage jobs:

💧 A main taking water from several smaller drains
💧 Flat or low-lying paddocks with very little fall
💧 Springs, seepage and those stubborn wet patches
💧 Drains running beneath farm traffic
💧 Some situations where an open drain could potentially be piped

It isn’t necessarily the pipe for every drain on the farm.

It’s about using the right product, in the right place, at the right size.
