🎠Shakespeare is STILL coming to Kainui!
While our Cellar Door has now closed, we want to thank everyone who’s shared a sunny afternoon, a glass of wine, or a special moment with us over the years. It’s been an incredible chapter — and we’re so grateful to have shared it with you.
But the story doesn’t end here.
We’re thrilled to announce that Kerikeri Theatre Company will return to Kainui in February 2026 for their seventh season of Summer Shakespeare.
Over the past six years, the vineyard has come alive with unforgettable productions — from the gripping drama of Macbeth, to the vibrant 60s flair of The Taming of the Shrew, the timeless romance of Romeo and Juliet, the enchantment of The Tempest, the humour of Twelfth Night, and the wild magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Each one has brought together local talent, passionate creatives, and an audience that keeps this tradition thriving.
While it’s still early days, KTC is currently planning to stage Julius Caesar in 2026 — and we can’t wait to see the vineyard transformed once again by this powerful story.
Though the Cellar Door may have closed, there are still great times ahead at Kainui. We look forward to welcoming you back for another summer of Shakespeare under the stars.
