Local source tsunami can arrive within minutes, and there may not be time for an official warning. Luckily there are some natural warning signs you can keep an eye out for.

If you're near the coast and experience any of the following, get to higher ground or as far inland as you can.
- A strong earthquake that makes it hard to stand up, or lasts a minute or more.
- A sudden rise or fall in sea level.
- Loud and unusual noises from the sea.

Happening tonight📱🔊

The nationwide test of the Emergency Mobile Alert system is happening tonight, between 6-7pm!

This is also a good reminder to kōrero with your whānau and flatmates about your emergency plans.

Emergency Mobile Alert is only one way of receiving information about emergencies in your area. EMA's are not meant to replace other emergency alerts, or the need to take action after natural warnings.

Another great course we can offer...

Bystander First Aid Courses -
Our Bystander First Aid courses are tailored to suit any organisation with a recommended timeframe per session of a minimum 2.5 hrs conducted by our experienced facilitators with the courses focussing on CPR & Defibrillator training which we proudly offer to our clients.
The sessions are made up of 30-45 mins of didactic training and the rest of the time taken up with participants doing hands-on simulated/training interacting with our facilitators who have developed an excellent training package incorporating the latest research, techniques, and equipment.
Within the didactic training, this is the time that we open up for discussion, concerns, and correction of any misinformation from the participant, with further opportunity to ask questions and seek clarity during the hands on activities.
Generally based on the Resus Council guidelines DRSABCD is the main focus for bystander first aid, with these courses tailored to those guidelines within the time frame of 2.5 hr sessions.
Each session is limited to a maximum of 12 people for best results with the 2 x course facilitators.
All attendees will be issued with a Certificate of Completion following the course for Organisation & Personal records.

Did you know we offer Active Offender Training?

Drawn from real world experience and training, this 2.5 hour workshop facilitated by our subject matter experts aims to equip you with real skills and knowledge to drop in to your professional and / or life toolbox.
This is not about the Police response. They will come. This is about the precious time in between. What are you going to do? Workplaces, Supermarkets, Public spaces & events, schools, tertiary campuses, public transport, the shopping mall, places of worship, individuals, or groups. The list of potential targets is endless. From critical incidents like armed offenders, to aggressive and disgruntled members of the public, how you respond may prevent harm to you and to others, it may even save your life or the life of another.
The workshop covers topics like modern history; current events; offender profiles; conflict management; relevant aspects of NZ Law; body function when stressed; responding when in a classroom, open spaces, or a workplace. Evacuation vs Lockdown vs Active Armed Offender alerts – know the difference.
Ultimately, you will gain knowledge, understanding and learn response options that could be used in any active offender event.
Training can be delivered at the workplace.
