𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴? 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.🔨🪟 Accidents happen, but a damaged double-glazed unit doesn’t necessarily mean replacing the entire window.

In many cases, we can replace the damaged glass unit while retaining the existing window frame, restoring the safety, appearance and performance of your window without a full replacement.

Whether it’s cracked, broken or a double-glazed unit has failed, the Wellington Glass & Mirror team can assess the damage and recommend the right solution.

𝗔 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀 & 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀🏡 Wellington is full of beautiful villas and character homes, and their original timber windows are often a big part of what makes them special.

That’s why we’re excited to now offer Escence Wood™ Timber Sash Replacement, giving homeowners another way to improve the comfort and performance of older timber windows without unnecessarily losing their character.

In some homes, the original timber frames are still in good condition, but the sashes are too tired or deteriorated for a traditional retrofit. Escence Wood™ allows us to retain suitable existing timber frames and replace the old sashes with new, made-to-fit engineered timber sashes designed for modern double glazing.

For villa and character-home owners, that means more options to improve warmth, comfort and energy efficiency while respecting the original style of the home.

And because no two Wellington homes are quite the same, our team can assess your existing timber joinery and recommend the right approach, whether that’s refurbishing and double glazing your existing sashes, replacing them with Escence Wood™, or looking at another solution.

Love the character of your timber windows? You may have more options than you think.

What a difference a full replacement can make. 🏡✨ We replaced the original green 90s joinery with modern black aluminium and upgraded the home to high-performance SuperTherm™ double glazing.

The result is a cleaner, more contemporary look, along with improved comfort, insulation and energy efficiency all year round.

If your existing windows are looking tired or you’re ready for a complete refresh, full replacement gives you the opportunity to upgrade both the look and performance of your home.

🚿 Still putting up with a shower curtain that clings, billows and seems impossible to keep looking fresh?

A frameless glass shower screen can be a surprisingly simple bathroom upgrade. It’s easier to keep clean, helps keep water where it belongs and gives your bathroom a cleaner, more open feel.

And the good news? In many cases, frameless glass can be custom-made to fit your existing shower or bath without needing a full bathroom renovation.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟. 👀 In this example, the window on the left is double glazed, while the glass beside it is still single glazed. The next morning, the single glazed glass was covered in condensation, while the double glazed window remained clear.

Same home. Same morning. Same conditions. A very different result. 🪟

Double glazing helps keep the inside surface of the glass warmer, reducing the likelihood of condensation forming.

It’s important to remember that double glazing is only part of the picture. Good ventilation also plays an important role in managing moisture levels inside your home. Together, effective ventilation and quality double glazing can help create a warmer, drier and more comfortable home.
