Congratulations Luke on your silver medal at the 2026 Canoe Polo World Champs, well done mate 🥈

76 teams representing 5 continents played across four grades - Men, Woman, U21 Men & U21 Women.

Held biennially, alongside the World Games, the Canoe Polo World Championships is where the best teams in the world compete.

At its conclusion, history was made with Luke's NZ U21 Junior Paddle Blacks making the final 2 of 20 teams. Ending up with a silver medal after a hard fought 7-2 loss against France.

This is the first time the Junior Paddle Blacks have ever stood on the World Championship podium. A fantastic achievement!

Wishing our workmate Luke Shepherd all the very best as he heads to Germany for the 2026 ICF Canoe Polo World Championships! 🇳🇿🛶

Luke will be representing New Zealand as goalie for the NZ U21 Paddle Blacks.

Good luck, mate — we’re incredibly proud of you! We’ll be up watching and cheering you on for every game.

Go hard, Luke, and go the Paddle Blacks!

Next up is our goalkeeper, Luke Shepherd.
Luke represented the New Zealand U21 Paddle Blacks at the 2024 ICF Canoe Polo World Championships, gaining valuable experience. Calm under pressure with quick reactions, Luke is a reliable presence under goal, providing confidence to the backline and making crucial saves when it matters most.
As the U21 Paddle Blacks prepare for the 2026 World Championships, Luke’s composure, work ethic, and shot-stopping ability is a great asset to the team.
