It’s been a cool few weeks at the desk. This one feels really special. I’ve had the privilege of working with Cube Dentro for a few years now. I remember our first meeting together, I felt like I had to pack a lunch, making the trip from Mangawhai to Takanini all for a website write-up… but I’m so glad I did. Right after that first catch up I knew we’d be a great fit! We’ve since done a rebrand journey together, a couple of websites, countless award submissions, blogs, and their exciting new business venture, Clonbern Estate (as seen on TVNZ 1, Moving Houses). Director, Leonie, is a ball of energy with talent to burn, I love how she puts her trust in me to pull the words together and support her epic business adventures. I’m so proud to play a very small part in the successes. Congrats team CD, you are amazing! 🤩

What’s your CTA / call to action? How do you ask for a sale? I’ve been writing some salesy stuff lately and it can feel super pushy at times. But if you don’t ask…

I think it’s all to do with the lead in 👉🏻 try to keep it gentle before you slam it with BUY NOW!

Your words (and images) should educate, challenge, inspire and/or provide evidence. It’s a basic responsibility to ensure your audience understands the decision before them and why they should trust you.

To connect with your reader, offer solutions, answer the “pain points” and make sure the benefits are clear… it’s just less icky all round.

Sitting here reflecting on six years in biz. Actually feeling pretty good about it all. I still remember taking the plunge. I met with an old boss who gave me encouragement & a few work opportunities to set me on my way. It’s not always been fun, there’s stuff I miss about agency life and the corporate buzz... office banter, a team setting, salary reviews and tech support - oh for IT help again! But I love that I’m calling the shots & can work from a desk in beautiful Mangawhai, plus I’m here for my family... staying in gym gear all day is pretty cool too. Will I do another 6 years, I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ but at the moment I’m grateful for the people around me and a brain that strings together a bunch of words. If you’ve been a part of 2015-2021, thank you 🙏

Thanks Rural Design & the talented Worsfold whānau for your generous sharing of info and infectious love of the land. 2020, you’ll be remembered for many things, but this project was a true highlight. The Worsfold’s are leading the charge on their Kaipara farm with Rural Design, specialising in Ecological Consultation, Wholesale Native Plant Supply and Landscape Design & Implementation.
The entire team are resolute about their role in protecting and enhancing the environment in Northland and further afield. It’s inspiring to understand a little more and I respect their passion and commitment.
