It’s the intersection of these 2 dynamics that unleash the power of new employees and help the whole team thrive. It can also help define a workable solution or fair and reasonable parting of the ways if the stars just won’t align.

Disputes often go around in circles with little progress. Parties get stuck defending and justifying their original positions ...talking past each other. Move from: Why won't they listen?... To: What does the other party already accept that might help them move in the direction needed? This 2 min video is a crackup and lays it bare: loaded with cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias which is so powerful if left unchecked. Sometimes conflict needs a 3rd party to help change the script, enabling a move to shared understanding and agreement.
