Felling some Eucalyptus at one of our harvesting sites, it was a good opportunity to highlight the importance of safe processes and awareness with alternate species and how unpredictable they can be.
Running a 32" bar with a quarter cut and wedge there was a lot of weight to factor. Despite machine and wind assistance the tree went forward, then sideways and rolled to a finish where it sits.
Everyone is safe and the tree is down with no damage or incident, but definitely always something to learn or improve on.
What experiences have some of you had with other species? Keen to hear/see some examples.
