Positions Available:
Experienced Digger Operator
Truck Driver
Location: Wairarapa, New Zealand
Responsibilities for Digger Operator:
Operate and maintain various types of excavators, including mini, medium-sized, and large hydraulic excavators, in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform excavation and earthmoving tasks according to project specifications, including digging trenches, grading surfaces, loading trucks, and excavating foundations.
Conduct pre-operation equipment inspections and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
Collaborate closely with the project team, including supervisors, site managers, and fellow operators, to coordinate work activities and meet project deadlines.
Maintain a clean and organised work area and assist with general labour tasks as required.
Requirements for Digger Operator:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating excavators in the civil construction or earthworks industry.
Valid heavy equipment operator certification or relevant licences.
Proficiency in operating various types of excavators and familiarity with excavation techniques and safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour and operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
Full driver's licence.
Responsibilities for Truck Driver:
Safely operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
Ensure adherence to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate transportation logistics.
Requirements for Truck Driver:
Minimum of 2 years of experience driving trucks in a construction or similar environment.
Valid Class 5 truck driver's licence.
Clean driving record with no major violations.
Familiarity with local roads and routes in the Wairarapa region is preferred.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws and regulations.
Ability to operate trucks of various sizes and types.
Effective communication skills and teamwork ability.
