THE END OF THIS CHAPTER….

It is with mixed emotions, Reuben and Jenine have decided 2026 will be our final year with Highmark, and we have chosen to no longer continue operating Highmark Homes Wairarapa.

From small beginnings working from home, through to building hundreds of homes… We never imagined the success we would have during our 19 years in business.

Highmark has been a huge part of our lives. During our time under the Highmark umbrella we got married, had children and went through everything from a global financial crisis and recessions, a massive building boom & even a pandemic!!! We have experienced so much in this chapter of our lives and are super proud of our achievements.

However as any business owners knows, there is always hard work and stress that comes with owning a business. It’s been a tough decision and one that’s taken a lot of time and thought, but Reuben and I are in agreement that we are ready to move on to a new chapter in our lives.

Some may speculate there is other reasoning behind our decision to close, but it's simple... WE ARE READY FOR A CHANGE, A SLOWER PACE. After 19 years of putting all our energy and efforts into our business, we are going to put ourselves first… take a rest and reevaluate what we want to do.

A big thank you to all of those who have supported us over the years. From our clients who entrusted us with their biggest asset, through to our incredible staff who have been with us for many years. A big thank you also to all the trades who were part of our “A Team”, building homes to a high standard.

Our office will no longer be open to the public for new enquiries, however Reuben and Jenine will be working from the business premises during the upcoming months to complete all builds/projects & handle any maintenance items.

We have some fantastic projects and are looking forward to working with our final clients during 2026.

Thanks again to our clients, trades and suppliers who have offered kind words and support during the last week.

Thank you for sharing the Highmark journey with us.

MORE THAN JUST A PROTECTIVE LAYER…

This recently installed glass splashback, is more than just a protective layer, it's a statement piece adding a sleek modern touch in our clients new home.

Splashbacks get pretty dirty when cooking. Glass offers a smooth non-porus surface that resists stains, bacteria and heat, it is durable, hygienic and easily cleaned making it a practical solution.

Digital images printed on glass are a fantastic way to add a pop of colour in a home. These clients had selected this digital image before the kitchen was even designed!

👋👋 MEET YOUR LOCAL WAIRARAPA TEAM..

Meet Reuben & Jenine — Our Wairarapa Team 💚

Reuben and Jenine launched the Wairarapa license in 2007 — that’s over 18 years of helping locals build their dream homes!

Reuben is a trade-qualified, licensed carpenter with 25+ years in the building industry, bringing extensive knowledge and attention to detail to every project. Jenine comes from a strong background in management and customer service, previously working for Flight Centre, and now focuses on creating seamless systems to enhance the client experience.

Outside of work, you’ll find them spending time with their family — supporting their kids’ many sporting adventures like tennis, motocross, mountain biking, and wake surfing! 🌿 Jenine loves gardening, cooking, and socialising, while Reuben… well, he has too many hobbies to list!

Their favourite part of the build process? The design stage, and of course, handover day, when everything comes together and every home’s unique touches shine through.

One of their proudest moments has been watching their loyal team grow, with several members hitting the 10+ year mark. 💪

Looking ahead, they’re most excited about the new Pavilion Series plans coming soon — and they can’t wait to share more!

This WC features clean lines, neutral colour palettes, and high-quality materials.

LET THE SUNSHINE IN…☀️

Often with open-plan homes, the kitchen ends up without a window🪟, resulting in a lack of natural light.

That won’t be the case with this home we are building!
These clients opted to install a skylight in their kitchen to let the sunshine in, and reduce the artificial lighting during the day.

Natural light is linked to improved mood ☺️and productivity so why not give your well-being a boost while preparing your favourite meals?🍽️☺️🍝🍗

This simple, yet elegant kitchen from a recent build ticks all the boxes ✅✅✅

Together with our kitchen designer Carroll's Joinery, our clients have created a functional yet beautiful kitchen.

The scullery is hidden around the corner, but not locked or closed off ensuring it blends seamlessly with the main kitchen design.

With ample bench space & storage, and sleek minimalist shelves to display personal items… the entire space oozes sophistication.

Our clients chose a leaf patten tile personalising it even more to their style, and adding an extra touch of elegance.

With the roofing complete and cladding underway, this home sure is taking shape.

EASY LIVING MEETS TIMELESS STYLE AND SOPHISTICATION..

Our team were thrilled to hand over this family home last week. 🔑

The project consists of many standout features…One of our favourites has to be the Outdure composite decking we have been working on 🔨

Our client wanted the outdoor area to feel like an extended part of the living without the headache of maintenance in the upcoming years.

With Outdure’s resort decking (which is blended from 95% recyclable materials)… The boards are splinter and nail-free. They do not leech and there is no need for staining, oiling or painting😍

We are still working on finishing off the exterior decking, fencing and even turf for these clients, but this home is too exciting not to share a few pics.
