✨ Looking after yourself matters more than you think ✨
At our recent Women in Business event, one message really stood out — the importance of prioritising your own wellbeing.

As women, we often juggle so much… work, family, business, community, commitments. It’s easy to put ourselves at the bottom of the list. But what this event highlighted so powerfully is that small, consistent habits can create meaningful change over time.

One idea that really resonated was habit stacking — simply attaching a small new habit to something you already do each day. It might be taking a few deep breaths with your morning coffee, going for a short walk after lunch, or swapping scrolling for reading a few pages before bed.

It doesn’t have to be big to make a difference 💛
In fact, it’s often the smallest shifts that lead to the biggest improvements in our overall wellness.
Let this be your reminder to start small, be kind to yourself, and prioritise YOU.

Last night attended the Women in Business evening at the Merchant. Such a great evening focused on connection, networking and our own health and wellbeing.

We heard from Adelene Tiddy CA who told us to lean into our support network when times are tough! Putting on her accountant hat she reminded us that discounting our products and services when times are tough is a great way to eat margin, and in the end trade yourself into bankruptcy!

Tracy Kidd from spoke about imposter syndrome – and this is rife – particularly with female business owners! Comparison is the thief of joy.

Nicole Bradley from F45 Training Matamata was on point when she said “you can’t pour from an empty cup” and to prioritise our health to be there for others. It’s always easy to put ourselves last!

Success means very little if you’re burnt out. Normalize asking for help.

Thanks for another great evening, WIB Matamata and thanks for having us.

What a wonderful event we held this week for the Winter Edition of Matamata Piako Women in Business.
While the event was aimed at women in business, the real heart of the message was wellness.

As women, we so often run ourselves into the ground trying to be everything for everyone. From keeping the accounts in order, to fitting in exercise, getting enough sleep, navigating grief, and eating well — it all matters.

It all impacts how we show up each day.

A powerful reminder that looking after ourselves isn’t a luxury… it’s essential.

It’s with a mix of gratitude and a little sadness that we say goodbye to our wonderful committee member, Briar, who is heading off to greener pastures 🌿

Briar has been an incredible part of our Matamata Piako Women in Business committee, bringing energy, ideas, and a genuine passion for supporting and connecting women in our community. Her contribution behind the scenes has helped shape so many of the events and opportunities we’ve been proud to be part of.

Briar, thank you for everything you’ve given during your time with us – your time, your enthusiasm, and your heart. You’ve made a lasting impact, and you will be greatly missed.

We wish you all the very best for this next chapter – we have no doubt you’ll continue to thrive and make a difference wherever you go ✨

With appreciation and best wishes,
Matamata Piako Women in Business 💛
