Today marks a major milestone at our Woolworths Supermarket project in Flaxmere, with the main floor slab now successfully poured - completed over four days with just over 345 cubic metres of concrete placed. A huge effort from the team on site.

The roof is now fully completed, all external precast walls are in place, and structural steel is currently being erected for the connected tenancy building. Framing on the mezzanine floor is progressing quickly, and most of the kerb and channel in the carpark has now been poured, including a vehicle crossing completed this morning.

Aluminium joinery begins next week, keeping everything on track for a mid-year completion!

Fantastic news yesterday with government funding announced for the proposed racecourse in Flaxmere, a major step toward delivering a state-of-the-art, Tier 1 racecourse and training facility for Hastings.

The 44.5-hectare development at the end of Portsmouth Road would become one of just five metropolitan racetracks in New Zealand, bringing top-level racing and major events to the region.

We are proud to be the developers of this transformative project, which will create jobs and deliver lasting benefits for Flaxmere and the wider Hawke’s Bay economy. While the project still remains subject to council approvals and processes, we are optimistic about the opportunity ahead.

This project forms part of our wider investment in Flaxmere, alongside the development of the new Woolworths supermarket, the Flaxmere Village Shopping Centre, and new affordable housing, all focused on creating jobs, homes, and lasting community opportunity.

Our team had a great evening celebrating the year that was with our contractors last night.

It’s been our busiest year yet delivering residential and commercial projects across the country, made possible thanks to the collaboration and support of our contractors and local business partners.

On Tuesday, we hit the road with Hastings District Council Councillors for a tour through the future of Flaxmere, and it’s safe to say, things are looking bright.

From new housing developments to upgraded community spaces, the transformation is well underway. TW is proud to be part of the progress, helping shape Flaxmere into a thriving hub.

The result of months of dedicated work by our TW Property and Construction teams: a stunning, purpose-built facility for ASX-listed Vulcan Steel.

This impressive high-stud warehouse, complete with a gantry crane and modern office space, will support Vulcan Steel’s national operations in distributing steel and other metals across Hawke’s Bay.

Our team managed every stage of the development from land acquisition and leasing to design, consenting, and project management, with our team delivering a high-quality build using low carbon concrete and locally sourced materials.

The Vulcan Steel team is now fully settled in and enjoying their new space!

Yesterday, our team joined mana whenua, council and government representatives for a blessing to mark the beginning of our affordable housing development in Flaxmere.

As part of the development, TW Property will deliver 120 affordable homes over the next three to four years. With resource consent lodged for the first lot of 15 homes, construction is set to begin this September.

The development is part of our broader commitment to Flaxmere, which also includes the redevelopment of the town centre and the delivery of the new Woolworths supermarket.

It is a great example of TW Property partnering with local government to deliver meaningful social and economic outcomes and we are proud to be part of it!

All set-up for a day at the Local Government NZ SuperLocal Conference in Christchurch this morning!

Over the next two days, we are exhibiting alongside our construction partners, TW Construction Company and sharing the work we are doing to deliver social housing solutions in partnership with 12 councils across New Zealand.

We are also proud to be showcasing our work in Flaxmere and our collaborative partnership with Hastings District Council - Te Kaunihera ā-Rohe o Heretaunga as an example of how we are working with local government to deliver meaningful social and economic outcomes.

We officially marked the start of construction on the brand-new Woolworths supermarket this morning, joined by Hastings District Council - Te Kaunihera ā-Rohe o Heretaunga Councillors, mana whenua, and members of the Flaxmere community.

With the first stage of building consent issued and the lease agreement with Woolworths confirmed, we are excited to begin earthworks and foundation preparations from Monday.

A lot has been happening behind the scenes to get us to this point, and with completion expected by mid-2026, we can’t wait to bring Flaxmere its long-awaited supermarket—offering more retail choices and creating local job opportunities.
