Whakanuia!! Last night's Kurawaka- wāhine in business accelerator graduation was such a beautiful celebration of courage, self-development, entrepreneurship and culture. This fourth cohort has seen 15 wāhine come together over 12-weeks of classes and mentoring to start or grow not only their pakihi, but more importantly, grow themselves.
Tipu Ake Tonu continues to proudly partner with Te Puni Kokiri Ikaroa-Rawhiti to bring this programme to the people of Te Matau a Māui. This is just one of the many ways they tautoko Māori business and we always recommend whānau connect with TPK when they are looking to develop their business. Thank you to Aidan and Juliana for being with us last night and to the wider team past and present who have worked with us to tautoko around 80 women through Kurawaka so far. The impacts to whānau, hapori, hapū and iwi continue to ripple out as was shared by our guest speaker Connise Tareha, past graduate with multiple thriving pakihi!
Also a shout out to Lucy and the Te Rae team for having us each week and for being the venue of our celebration last night. This purpose-fit facility in Hastings has been our home for the past three months, welcoming in our wāhine and last night, their whānau and our network of supporters and whanaunga who contribute magic in their own ways. Whether it's looking after the kids, acting as a sounding board, investing, advising, showing up when needed- whatever it looks like, your awhi helps build the wellbeing of the collective. That's what it's all about. Mana wahine, mana motuhake!
Keep an eye out for the "pitch" series of videos we will be sharing. To give each of our wāhine and their pakihi a chance to shine in the spot-light.
