we can work together. If English is your second language, I can help bring clarity and accuracy to your essays and assignments, although some subject criteria would apply. Whatever your project may be, it will have my utmost respect and regard. When it comes to proofreading and copy editing, I am passionate and meticulous about finding and fixing inconsistencies and errors in order to show the writing in all its glory. Mistakes and oversights are easily made, especially when an author has been working so closely with a project. A fresh perspective and input from a professional proofreader usually results in heightened clarity and flow for the reader, which also positively impacts the credibility of the author and their story or message. I would love to take the pressure off you. Two levels of service are offered:-
Proofreading: I will scour your work for any errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency in text, layout, and format – and fix them. It is essentially (and usually) a final quality check before publication. The goal is accuracy in presentation. Copy-editing: This involves all of the above while also incorporating slight reworkings of ambiguous sentences and paragraphs so that you are effectively conveying your intentions. I understand that each author has their own unique style and flavour, and my goal is to absolutely stay in keeping with that. Attention is also paid to consistency of details (if Bella's eyes were brown on page 12 but hazel on page 69, it's my job to spot that). The goal is accuracy and improvement. I graduated with a Diploma in Proofreading and Copy Editing (with Excellence) from the New Zealand Institute of Business Studies in 2016, and also successfully completed Copy Editing for Fiction (2018) and Editing Children's Books (2023) from the PEN Institute. Additionally, I attained my Certificate of Medical Transcription from LearnMT Pty Ltd in 2021. My fee is normally 0.05 cents per word.
