Tironui Estate

Tironui Estate A small and very select vineyard in Hawkes Bay, producing a single vintage every year.

We are a small boutique hillside Winery, founded in 2002, with our first vintage being produced in 2005. All of our wines are unusual for New Zealand, in that the prominent grape featured in each vintage is Malbec. Grapes are both co-picked and handpicked and are then co-fermented in French oak barrels. Tironui means "great view" and this is reflected on our label, depicting the view from the Vine

yard, out to Napier with Cape Kidnappers in the distance. We hope you get as much pleasure in drinking our wine, as we do in producing it.

Take a taste of summer into Autumn/Winter. Officially launching mid-June, our 2026 Rosé (malbec/merlot/Cabernet) should not disappoint. Subtle pink in colour with hints of raspberry, adding to a dry crisp texture. Lots of excitement around this vintage and already tasting great.

Stunning weather on the vineyard today. All quiet, as grapes picked, lower nets tied back and simply waiting for the leaves first to change colour and then to fall off prior to pruning. Just basic maintenance and tidying up to be done for the next couple of months. Our 2026 Tironui Rosé which was only picked on 28th February, will be bottled on 22nd April and ready for sale from June. Perfect timing, as we are down to our last 80 or so bottles of 2021 Rosé.

Wine tasting this afternoon as part of winning Cranford/Karamu Rotary Golf Auction lot from last year. Good chance to show off a few vintages, plus create a small food platter to accompany. Not much of either left!

Another harvest over and the earliest to date. A record 6 tonnes of grapes all handpicked in less than six hours, by a great team ranging from 13 to eighty something. Thank you all for your support and hardwork.
