The north bank of the Ngaruroro River, Ohiti Valley. Bruce Nimon has been farming this ground since the first vines went in back in 2000.

He trained as a w**emaker and chose the vineyard instead. The site has been bringing home international trophies ever since.
You've tasted Kōkako before, in Heartwood. Soon it will have a bottle of its own.

Our 2025 Kōkako Farms Single Vineyard Chardonnay is barrel fermented and about to be released for the very first time. It will be our tenth Chardonnay, and the final w**e in our single vineyard series.

It arrives late November. There won't be much of it.

This one belongs to Bruce as much as it does to us.

We're lucky to have one of the country's best right on our doorstep. Tony Bish is somewhat of a chardonnay supremo, crafting around 10 different styles just down the road here in Ahuriri, and honestly we haven't met one of his we didn't love.

They're the perfect match for anything fresh off our seafood menu. Tony and his team are proof that a small family business can punch well above its weight, producing world class w**e from right down here at the bottom of the world.

We were thrilled to see Bruce Nimon from Kokako Farms Ltd receive this award. We love working with Bruce and their vineyards contribute to several of our Chardonnays. We have also just released our inaugural Tony Bish Kokako Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2025 which show the terroir of this vineyard so well. Congratulations Bruce!

Ohiti Valley, first week of October. Warm sun, and not a single bud left closed.

Tony was out at Kōkako this week, checking the new growth row by row.

"This is such an exciting time in the vineyards. Every bud has burst and it's looking really, really good."

That's the 2027 harvest out there. There's a long season between here and the fruit, but Tony reckons it's going to be another cracker.
