This might be the night you’re still thinking about the next week.

HERstory 2026 returns to The Suter Theatre in Nelson.

Four local women, Alice, Becky, Loren, and Maryam, share real stories from their lives. Honest, human, and unfiltered in all the right ways.

Moments that land differently when you hear them in a room full of people.

That quiet feeling of “that’s me” you don’t forget easily.

With a live guest performance from Sophie Hayley, and an evening inside one of Nelson’s most beautiful theatres.

Bring your friends, your family, your partner, or come on your own.

Because nights like this don’t feel the same when you watch them happen after they’ve already sold out.

HERstory also supports the Nelson Women’s Centre and the important work they do for women in our community.

Last night’s thunderstorm was something else.

It didn’t just pass through. It arrived, settled in, and put on a full show. Hours of rolling thunder, lightning splitting the sky, bedrooms lit up like someone was flicking the universe’s light switch on and off just to make a point.

It was hard to ignore.

And maybe that was the lesson.

Some things in life don’t arrive quietly. They shake the sky a little. They disrupt the usual rhythm. They demand attention, whether we are ready for them or not.

And yet, even in all that noise and intensity, there was something strangely beautiful about it. You could lie there in the dark and just watch it unfold. No fixing it. No controlling it. Just witnessing it.

It made me think about how often we try to keep everything calm and contained in our own lives. To manage every detail. To smooth every edge. To keep the “storm” from showing.

But storms will come anyway.

The real question is what we do when they do.

Do we resist everything that feels loud or uncomfortable, or do we pause long enough to notice what it might be showing us?

Because even the most chaotic moments have a way of revealing something. Energy we have been holding. Change we have been avoiding.

Or simply the reminder that we are allowed to take up space, too.

And then, like all storms, it passes.

The sky clears. The air feels different. And we are still here.

Maybe a little more awake than before.

Love and lightning

Hey, Queen,
If you’ve been thinking, “I should be fine…”

You know that one.

The classic internal message of lovely humans everywhere.

“I should be fine…”

Because nothing is technically on fire, nothing is falling apart, and on paper, everything looks… fine.

But then there’s that quiet part of you going, actually though… I don’t feel fine.

And if that’s you, you’re not weird, you’re not behind, and you definitely don’t need to win some imaginary “I’m coping the best” award.

You’re just human.

And you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

That’s where a great coach comes in. Someone to help you slow it down, make sense of what’s going on, and get you back to feeling like yourself again.

Work with me, or someone you know who walks her talk.

It's Mother's Day in NZ, and with this comes a mix of emotions, the deep missing of my mum, and the profoundly fabulous bond I share with my boys.

It's a thing called microchimerism.

I know some of you have significant disconnects with your adult children. I want to tell you that, no matter what, they remain deeply connected to you, your heart, cells, and soul.

Here is a wee blog on my thoughts of being a mum to adult sons.
My sons are 28 and 29 now. My Yorkshire boys… now Kiwis… but always forged in Sheffield steel.

There’s a kind of bond that doesn’t loosen just because time moves on. It doesn’t fade when children become men. It just changes shape, like steel being forged again and again into something even stronger. Even if you have a strained relationship with your kids, you are still deeply connected,...
