In the build up to the busy summer season for the rental car sector, we worked with the team at NZ Rent a Car - Nelson to build awareness about their offering, and their prestige vehicles in particular. The collaboration has included a promotional shoot on the Nelson Airport runway at sunset, which allowed us to capture some beautiful photos and video. The story has been gaining traction with local and national media, including a great piece from Tarmac Life. You can read their story and watch some of the video clips via the links in the case study on our website

Yesterday I was interviewed on Seven Sharp as part of a positive piece about Nelson and several businesses here with great stories to tell that we helped put together with Michael Holland. It was a real pleasure to shine a light on just a few of the innovative businesses in our region and to share the story of our new business Distinctively Kiwi (www.distinctivelykiwi.nz) which is endeavouring to uplift our hospitality and tourism businesses and to flip the narrative about our region after some tough announcements this year. A big thank you to Paul Miller and Kernohan Engineering, Gearshop - Quality Outdoor Equipment, Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures and Hardy St Eatery for taking part. Owner/chef James Rutherford really went above and beyond on a day that started with a region-wide power cut! It was fantastic to be at the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce Business After Five hosted by Kernohan Engineering. It was exactly what a great networking event should be - fantastic setting, uplifting speech from the host, and buzzing with new people to meet and good friends to reconnect with. Thanks team for an excellent time!

We're delighted for our friends at Pure Peony who have reached the milestone of 10 years in business. We can remember visiting them on their first day at the Nelson Saturday Market (The Nelson Market) and have been enthusiastic purchasers of their amazing products ever since.

This year, Pure Peony not only celebrates its 10th business anniversary, but also another major milestone – the passing of the torch to the next generation.

An offer from our friends at CERT that may be of interest. If you like and share on the CERT post and comment ‘de-escalation’ on their post they will send you the details.

Freebie alert!!

CERT - Keeping your team safe – physically, psychologically, and professionally.

Morning, all!! As we mull over the “state of the world” today, I’ve decided while the bosses are away, that it’s time for us to “pay it forward” 😊

There’s no doubt about it, our risk of conflict and harm is increasing. Tension is higher. Tolerance is lower.

“Situational Awareness” and “De-Escalation” are front of mind for many organisations, as we face growing challenges from the people we come into contact with daily.

How do we cope with that, when we’re stretched so thin, and we’re asked to perform better with less, in an increasingly volatile world?

This is where we come in – and we’d like to help, at no cost to you.
At CERT, keeping people safe, is our “WHY”.
And we mean physically, psychologically, and professionally (let’s face it – conflict takes a toll on our bodies AND brains, and there’s no doubt we’re all under intense scrutiny these days!)

So - Because we know times are tricky, we’d love to share our stuff with you – and this time, it’s on us!

As well as courses on Wellbeing and Resilience, Dealing with Inappropriate Behaviour, and Tactical (effective) Communications, one of our proudest achievements, is our foundation “Situational Safety and Tactical Communications” course.

It’s our “flagship” de-escalation course, and we’ve put thousands of Kiwis and Aussies through our two-day, “gold standard” face to face training. That’s not to mention the refresher sessions delivered.

We’d like to give you a freebie. A really, really useful freebie. We’ve developed a “pocket sized” online version of our SSTC course – and we’d love to share it with you, no strings attached!

Now, don’t get me wrong…. face to face training of this kind is always, always best. But at the end of the day – online training is still way better than no training! 😊

If you’d like me to send you our online package – please “like” and “share” this post, and type “De-escalation” in the comments below – and I’ll get it on it’s way!

We had a fantastic day of learning today led by Catherine Arrow and thanks to PRINZ. WPR was proud to be a sponsor and it was a real joy to see our PR peers from Nelson, Tasman, Blenheim and the West Coast, including four PRINZ fellows! Here’s a photo of most of the participants in the morning session.
