🏆 What an honour -- Esolar has been named New Zealand Partner of the Year at the REC ANZ Excellence Awards 2025!

Every time we receive this recognition, Lance and I are reminded of just how much goes into what we do — and how little of it would be possible without our incredible team.

To our crew — thank you. You turn up every single day, you do the hard work in the heat and the rain, you take pride in every job, and you are the reason we can hold an award like this with confidence. We are so proud of each and every one of you.

Thank you to REC Solar Australia & New Zealand for continuing to support us and for recognizing what we've built together. And to our amazing customers — your trust in us means everything. Here's to more sunshine ahead! ☀️

New Zealand has officially passed the solar tipping point.

Researchers say most Kiwi households buying solar today will save more than they spend - and that now includes battery storage too. Around $1,000 a year net, on current figures.

From 20,000 solar customers around New Zealand in 2018 to nearly 84,000 today. The momentum is real - and it stacks up financially everywhere from Nelson to Dunedin.

We’ve been saying this for years. It’s nice when the numbers catch up.

If you’ve been sitting on the fence, this is a pretty good moment to jump off it. We’re always happy to have a no-pressure chat about what solar looks like for your place specifically.

NZ is one of the first where the electrification of homes and vehicles could deliver cost-of-living savings and reductions in emissions at the same time.

We choose Fronius. Not because we have to. Because it’s the best gear we’ve put our name on. And clearly, our customers agree. All sold. ⚡

Not all inverters are created equal.
We choose Fronius because they've been engineering inverters since 1945 — long before solar was trendy. Austrian-made, globally trusted, and supported locally here in NZ.
No cutting corners. No chasing the cheapest option. Just gear we'd put on our own homes. 🏡⚡

Power prices in New Zealand rose 12% in 2025. Another 5% rise is forecast for 2026. And lines charges are locked in to keep climbing every year until 2029.
If you're wondering why your bill keeps creeping up — and what you can actually do about it — we've broken it down in our latest blog.

The short version: the drivers are structural, not temporary. But for most homes in Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough, a properly designed solar system turns a rising, uncontrollable expense into a predictable, fixed one.

We loved hosting this event and bringing together many local businesses for a great evening of conversation and insight ☀️

It was a fantastic opportunity to share practical knowledge around energy costs, resilience, and what solar can deliver in the real world.

A big thank you to Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce for their support in helping us bring the event to life, and for hosting us at the Mahi Tahi Colab space — an awesome venue for collaboration.

Also a huge thanks to James from Taspac Energy Ltd and Patrick from Fronius Australia for being part of the discussion with us, and your continued support in our business.

If you missed it and want to learn more, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to chat.

An evening full of useful insights and great conversations with the Solar Electric Technology Ltd (eSolar) team ☀️

From the advantages of adopting solar early, to smart inverters, grid supply, and return on investment, Lance from eSolar, alongside James from Taspac and Patrick from Fronius Solar & Energy, provided a practical and informative overview of the industry and the key considerations for those exploring solar.

While many of us are familiar with solar power, it was great to see so many attendees come away with new insights - and a few new connections as well! With the current price of fuel and recent weather events in memory, it was a timely discussion about energy resilience and renewable solutions.

A huge thank you to the speakers for sharing your knowledge with us, and to everyone who joined us.
