That crooked horizon on the Primo chimney cameras has been quietly offending a few sensitive souls around the office for longer than we’d like to admit. 😅📷

The problem is, those cameras live in a pretty unforgiving spot. Access to the chimney is limited, the weather gives them a hiding, and when they shift out of alignment it’s not exactly a quick trip up a ladder to straighten them again.

So we’re very grateful to the mysterious camera fairy who has worked their magic and got them sitting straight again. 🧚‍♂️✨

734 Primo Burgers! $1,468 raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Taranaki. 🍔💛

A huge thank you to everyone who grabbed a burger during August, and to the Smokn Comrades crew for turning a tasty idea into something that genuinely gives back to our community.

We’re pretty proud to have been part of this one. ❤️

Wow, what a community we live in and we are so grateful.

At the start of August we set out to achieve 2 things.

1) Making more people in our community aware of what the amazing work the team at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Taranaki do. I think we have sparked a lot of conversation over the month of August with people who wanted to know what they did and how they potentially could be involved. If it’s not now, hopefully in the future. Also we saw this first hand at King of the Mountain BBQ Competition when we peered the mentor and child to make a burger with our burger competition, to show how easy giving up some time to help out a child and how much fun it brings to a child, from some interest and time invested.

2) We wanted to fundraise some money to help the trust keep doing the amazing work they do in our community.

Well I’m pleased to announce that thanks to the support of you the public, we have managed to make 734 Primo Smash Burgers, raising another whooping $1,468 dollars from the burgers we made.

So I just want to thank my team who kept the grills going, rolling the smash balls, smashing the balls, hand cutting our home cured bacon, and crafting some amazing tasty burgers.

And I just want to thank you the public for getting behind this idea and supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Taranaki, with enjoying your burger while supporting this trust.

As I say it takes a community, a family and team to make a better place.

📣 Early closing this Friday, 28 August

Just a heads-up that the Primo office and Helpdesk will be closing a little early this Friday at 4:30pm.

We’re getting the whole team together to farewell Kelly, who finishes up with Primo this week after an incredible 11 years with us. 💛

Kelly has been a huge part of Primo over that time, and has played a big part in helping shape the business and team into what it is today. Eleven years deserves a proper send-off, so we’re putting the tools down a little early, getting everyone together, and raising a glass to Kelly and whatever comes next. 🥂

Our phones will switch over to after-hours from 4:30pm. You can still leave us a message or email [email protected], and we’ll get back to you when we’re back in the office.

Customers on a paid business plan will still have access to our on-call technician through the after-hours phone menu.

From a Facebook comment to a finished short film 🎬🧱

Remember back in May, when we gave away some of our custom Primo KiwiBricks sets? Watts left a comment saying her 16-year-old son Noah could make us a stop-motion advertisement if he won one.

Honestly... how were we supposed to say no to that?

So Noah got a set, came up to New Plymouth with his mum to throw some ideas around with us, then disappeared back to Hāwera and got to work.

Our only real advice was: don't make an ad. Tell a story.

And he absolutely ran with it.

From building the sets and animating every movement frame by frame, through to editing, sound effects and music, this is Noah's work. Our little Primo ATV and tower even got starring roles. 🚜📡

We think he's done an awesome job, and at only 16 he's got a pretty bright future ahead of him if he keeps creating like this.

For us, being local isn't just about providing broadband and mobile. It's also about being able to say yes when someone from our community comes along with a great idea and wants a chance to have a go.

Nice work Noah. We reckon this one's pretty Primo. 👏
