TE RAU TUKU KŌRERO - COMMUNICATIONS ADVISOR
PKW is seeking a warm, organised and capable part-time Te Rau Tuku Kōrero (Communications Advisor) to join our Shareholder Engagement team based in Ngā Motu | New Plymouth.
The purpose of this role is to bring the PKW story to life through clear, engaging and values-led communications that support meaningful connections with Rau Titikura, whānau, kaimahi, partners and stakeholders.
This is more than a support role — it is a key position at the centre of our kaupapa.
You'll work alongside leaders and teams across the organisation to tell our stories, celebrate our people and whenua, support key initiatives and events, and deliver communications that inform, engage and connect our communities.
Key responsibilities of our Te Rau Tuku Kōrero include:
⦁ Develop and deliver engaging communications across digital, print and stakeholder channels.
⦁ Create compelling content that shares the stories, achievements and aspirations of PKW.
⦁ Support shareholder, whānau and stakeholder engagement initiatives and events.
⦁ Manage website, social media and other communication platforms.
⦁ Provide communications advice and support across the PKW Group.
⦁ Assist with media, public relations and reputation management activities.
⦁ Ensure communications reflect the values, kaupapa and aspirations of PKW.
About You
We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate:
⦁ At least 3 years' experience in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, journalism, marketing or a related field.
⦁ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style for different audiences and channels
⦁ Experience developing and delivering communication plans, campaigns and content across digital and traditional communication channels
⦁ Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
⦁ An understanding of tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and kaupapa Māori engagement, along with a genuine commitment to supporting Māori aspirations and development.
⦁ A collaborative, proactive and values-driven approach that aligns with PKW's kaupapa and aspirations.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate understanding and empathy with Māori aspirations for Maori economic development and of tikanga Māori. This is a part-time position (0.5 FTE).
