Like they said ..

A friendly towing tip from the Ashley’s team:

If you’ve broken down and need to leave your car, please try and leave the key with it if you safely can.

You’d be amazed how often we arrange to pick up a car… only to discover the key is still in someone’s pocket, handbag, workshop, mate’s ute, or “somewhere safe.”

Having the key lets us get the car into neutral, release the steering lock, and safely steer it while loading it onto the truck.

Without it, even a simple tow can quickly become a much bigger mission.

It’s also worth thinking about:

where you could safely hide a key on the car
whether a nearby business could hold it
or if someone local can leave it close by

And if you do leave a key somewhere, flick us a photo — because “under the thing beside the other thing” gets surprisingly confusing at 10pm in the rain.

We highly recommend keeping a small magnetic key holder in the glove box for emergencies. They’re cheap, simple, and can save a lot of hassle.
